Third Year Homeaversary & an Announcement | Warrenton, Virginia

Third Year Homeaversary & an Announcement | Warrenton, Virginia

Three years. I cannot believe almost three years ago, I was handed a key to a house I called my own. So many memories with family and friends! Wine nights, craft dates, sleepovers, game nights, small group gatherings, The Bachelor binging, cooking adventures, girl talk… It has always been a safe place for my fur babes and I. <3 As you might know, Alex and I are planning to get married soon (YAYAYAY!), and with our wedding date just around the corner means changes are happening!

I’m selling my house.

There! I said it!!! AH!

When I bought my house three years ago, I bought it with the intention that it wasn’t my forever home. If you haven’t read how the house came about, you should because it’s CRAZY how God worked in my life when I wasn’t expecting it! You can read the house story HERE!! 🙂 It’s similar to how Alex came into my life. <3 But I will admit that I never in my wildest dreams thought I was going to move out of state, let alone, be an Air Force wife! I imagined moving out towards the Marshall, VA area to see the rolling hills and distant mountains from my window… But the beach doesn’t sound too bad for a couple years either!!! 😉 I cannot wait to see where the military takes us in the future!!!

I have received some questions, especially after Alex proposed, and I want to share my answers with you all regarding the future of my business and my house! 🙂

What does the future of my business look like?

Great question! No one ever really knows because I’m putting it all in God’s hands, BUT I’m planning to drive/fly back to VA (after I officially move down to Florida in July) 1-2 consecutive weekends per month to photograph weddings over the weekends, sessions throughout the week, and catch up with family/friends! I want to continue the relationships I’ve built with friendors and venues in VA because you never know what could happen after the Air Force career is done. 🙂

When are we getting married?

June 21st in Virginia!!! Going to be one of the best days of my life!!!

When and where am I moving?

I’m moving down to the Destin, Florida area (it’s GORGEOUS!!!) where Alex is stationed for the next two years! I won’t officially move down to Florida until we get married in June, but I’m going back and forth between states until wedding season picks up in April. 🙂

How will I continue business in Virginia?

My family lives in the same area I bought/built my house! 🙂 So now that my sister just finished renovating her own place, I have options where to stay when I come back to visit. I’ll continue photographing sweet couples/friends for years to come because my roots will always be in the Warrenton, VA area!!! <3

When is my house going on the market?

I’m really relying my trust on God’s timing!!! But after chatting with my grandfather, I decided that I will put my house on the market this spring with the intention to go to closing after Alex and I get married on June 21st! If there is someone interested in buying my house before it’s officially on the market this spring, I’m open to that option!!

Am I taking my furniture with me?

Moving from a 1,700 square foot house to a smaller, but cozier home in Florida means downsizing my “stuff!” Especially the furniture!! I’m going to offer the new owner some pieces I won’t be able to take with me. Otherwise, there will be a very nice yardsale happening in the near future!!! 😉

How do I plan to sell?

My grandfather is a licensed VA Real Estate Agent and is going to walk me through the process of “sell by owner!” 🙂

Let’s take a tour!!!!

** These photos were collected from the past years of sharing projects/features of the house on the blog. Real estate photos will be needed in the near future!! 🙂 **

The landscaping has some nice and unique features. One of my favorite features is the Japanese Maple on the corner!! This was one of the first things I did when I bought my house. 🙂 Although, these plants have matured since taking this photo almost three years ago! A few favorite things about my house — I have the perfect view of the community park and I have a long driveway for when I wanted to have friends over. 🙂

After walking through a hallway from either the garage or the front door, there’s a nice spot to get settled with a half bath easily accessible! I’m glad I chose a tile floor in case I came in from a wet day!

A great place to hang jackets/coats, take off shoes, and place loose odds and things on the shelf station I built on the way up the stairs!

I love this little spot because it’s as much as my couples see when they walk into my house. To the right is a half bath and to the left is an office space!

French glass doors with crystal knobs open the doors to a beautifully lit office space with nice trim work and dark hardwood floors.

I loved having an end unit for the amount of window light in every room!!! 🙂

After walking up the staircase, you’re welcomed into an open concept layout!

The dining room is a perfect spot for an eight-person table! I love the ceiling medallion and the brass chandelier! And right next to the dining room is the kitchen. I found myself hanging out at the island or the peninsula quite often for work and meals! It’s also a great social spot for entertaining, but it’s very functional! And you know I’m all about functional!!!!

Gosh, I’m going to miss this kitchen!!!!!! SO much cabinet space for everything and anything… Even a random ice cream maker I’ve never used. 😉

Love the brass hardware updates around the kitchen, the backsplash, the undercabinet lighting, and the counter space to work/entertain!

You cannot go wrong with a white shaker cabinet!

As if the cabinets weren’t already spacious, there’s a pantry for stored goods! I added these french styled door knobs to add personality. Love it!!!

Because I love a functional space, I built these utensil drawer dividers custom to these drawers. Again, I’m going to miss this!!!! I love turning around from the stovetop to find any gadget right next to me!

Walking out of the kitchen, here is the peninsula I was talking about earlier! Another great entertaining spot while working in the kitchen. The corbel adds a little touch to the transition between rooms. 🙂 And to the right of the barstools, I placed a cabinet in the corner for a few purposes. When I’m entertaining, it’s a great drink station!!! But when it’s not used for entertaining, it’s a great spot to display decor because it’s the first thing guests see when they walk up the staircase. It also functions as the perfect spot to contain board games! 😉

All of the windows in the office and main floor in the house has this window treatment. 🙂 If the next owner decides to not hang any curtains, it will look great as is!!! 🙂 And the white wooden blinds polish off every room!

I’m a huge fan of the 9ft tall rooms and window light (as you know by now)!! And the dark wooden floors throughout the main living area make it easy to clean!

The main floor has a pretty grey wall color with the board and batten trim work and crown molding!

Not sure I’ll be able to take this amazing couch, but it fit perfectly in this room!!

I loved the placement of the Christmas tree during the Christmas season!!! 🙂

One of my favorite focal points… The fireplace!!! If the next owner wants it, everything is up for negotiation!! Every guest who came over always thought the fireplace came with the house because it’s the perfect placement/size/style for the room. 🙂 Some of my favorite memories are curling up next to the fireplace with a book and hot cocoa during the Christmas season.

To the right of the fireplace is a half bath and the staircase that Ollie has fallen down too many times! 😉 HAHA!

After you venture upstairs, the first room is the master! Some favorite features — Tall ceiling, the chandelier, window light, the walk-in closet (not photographed but I built a California style closet with wooden shelves, drawers, and everything you need!), and the master bathroom!

I have TV connections if the next owner wants the TV/frame/etc, we can chat because I won’t need it in Florida. 🙂 This photo was taken from the corner left of the entryway with the viewpoint of the master bathroom door.

The door to the right is the master walk-in California style closet!!! 🙂 I need to take photos to showcase that!!!

Third Year Homeaversary & an Announcement | Warrenton, Virginia

Love the window light, counter space, storage, large mirror with the frame, and the double sinks!!!

Third Year Homeaversary & an Announcement | Warrenton, Virginia

BUT my favoriteeeeeee feature is not just one but TWO showerheads!!!! The showerheads are on opposing walls (one not photographed)! HECK YES. Also, the tile work is beautifulllll!!!! The blue strip of tile in the shower has a glass effect that is a nice contrast from the marble design everywhere else.

Just steps out of the master bedroom, there is a laundry room in the hallway across the hallway from another full bathroom with a tub! This laundry space is very functional, but also pretty to admire with the red washer/dryer!!! I loveddddd this set so much and I’m SO sad I cannot take them down to Florida… 🙁 They are large enough to fit a king size comforter which was the reason why I bought them!

Third Year Homeaversary & an Announcement | Warrenton, Virginia

If you continue down the hallway, there are two rooms (one not photographed because it’s the craft room). This room is one of my favorites because it’s the beachy guest bedroom! How ironic that I had decorated with the beach in mind and now I’m moving to the beach very soon!!! Anyways, I love (again) the window light and how cozy this room is for guests or a growing family!

Third Year Homeaversary & an Announcement | Warrenton, Virginia

I installed this hanging canopy for a light and airy, beach vibe!

Third Year Homeaversary & an Announcement | Warrenton, Virginia

The two rooms (again, one of them not photographed) have closets and views of the park! 🙂

I hope you enjoyed this tour of my house!!!! Going room by room has me a little sad thinking about the memories stored here, but they have all been AMAZING memories!!! And I cannot WAIT to start my future with Alex in Florida very soon where new memories will be collected in his home. <3
