I remember running errands one afternoon last year when I received a phone call from Theresa’s SWEET momma! She was so excited because Dylan proposed to her daughter which meant they were starting to dream and plan their big day. On a side note — This is crazy typing this and realizing how the time has flown by since this phone call because Dylan and Theresa are getting married THIS WEEKEND!!!! 🙂 This dear family is special to me. I’ve gotten to know them over the years, thanks to a mutual friend/past bride (HEY, NATALIE!!!)! I had the honor of photographing Theresa’s sister and her husband’s wedding back in 2016 — Has it really been almost three years?! And now it’s her turn to tie the knot!!! <3 I loved getting to know their story and learn a little more about who they are as individuals and as a couple. When I was chatting with her mom about them, I started to realize how similar we were. Dylan is a Doctor (like Alex) AND also a twin (like Alex)… Theresa went to JMU (like me). I love that Theresa and I can relate so much — Especially with our men who work crazy shifts!
Knowing that Dylan was working crazy shifts (and wasn’t living in VA) when they initially booked me, I only hoped to make an engagement session happen. Fortunately for us, the stars aligned and we managed to not only find a date that worked, but we had one of the most glorious sunsets!!! 🙂 It feels like so long ago when I last saw as beautiful of a sunset as I did with Dylan and Theresa — They must be good luck! We ran around the Manassas Battlefields and their sweet, gentle love was precious to document. I cannot wait to photograph them along with their family and friends this weekend!!!
Theresa & Dylan’s Love Story

HOW DYLAN PROPOSED TO THERESA
from Theresa’s point of view
After we both graduated, Dylan left for Medical School at Tulane University in New Orleans and we continued our long-distance dating for another 4 years. After 7 years of dating, Dylan proposed in his family’s kitchen after we made dinner together (homemade pizza – Theresa’s favorite food!) We are excited to begin our life together (finally!!!) in Durham, NC where Dylan will start his first year of residency at Duke Hospital for Anesthesiology.
Thank you, Theresa and Dylan, for making this session happen in the midst of a busy season! 🙂 I had a great time getting to know you before your special day on SATURDAY! Ah! I cannot wait to see you all very soon! Enjoy these photos!!! XOXO! CONGRATS!
CONGRATS!!!!! SEE YOU SOON!!!
