It is so funny to see connections between my clients. When first meeting up with Travis and Amanda at Hartlands Orchard in Delaplane, VA, Amanda was telling me that she’s friends with several of my beautiful brides. 🙂 Love hearing that!!! In my business, it is important for me to get to know my clients because I do not want them to think I’m just there for the job… I want them to walk away from this time together knowing that they have a loyal friend. I LOVE keeping in touch with not only my current brides, but past brides too. 🙂 Travis and Amanda are just as sweet as can be and I am SO beyond excited to be their photographer! And not only are they super cute, but they have a SUPER cute girl as you will see in some photos below!!! 🙂
Once we were done at Hartlands Orchard, we were off to Barrel Oak Winery where we had the most AMAZING views!!!! My goodness, it was perfection! So anxious to share these photos with you all today! 🙂
Here is Travis and Amanda’s love story! 🙂
Travis and I were set up by his older sister. I met her at a wedding in 2008 in the Bahamas and I am pretty sure about the third thing she said to me was, “oh my gosh, you have got to meet my brother! He’s a stud!” And a few minutes after talking she said, “You are totally going to marry my little brother one day!” I thought he was a complete whacko and told myself she should slow down on the open bar…
A few days later, I got a MySpace request from “Travis price”– her brother. Then Facebook. I also thought he was a creep. She was right, he was a hottie but creepy outweighs hottie. Not to mention I had a boyfriend. Pass!Â
Â
In July of 2009 I was all alone on the fourth. No fireworks, no boyfriend, no plans… Lame! My older brother just so happened to call me and invite me to a total redneck party- complete with monster trucks. I said sure an he told me he’d pick me up in 10 min. 10 minutes?! I threw on some patriotic clothes, slapped on some mascara, halfway brushed my hair, and they were in the driveway. My brother greets me at the door to tell me “Travis” is in the car. Who? Oh, that random guy and his crazy sister! I said cool and regretted my 10 min get ready job.Â
We hit it off and the rest is history. For the record, he’s not quite as creepy as he seemed!
Travis proposed on 2/13/13. The day before Valentine’s Day. Who does that?! He knew iwas literally expecting it for months and was starting to get pretty vocal about my disapproval of his timeline. I thought it would have happened months before and thought every holiday, dinner out alone, or even cleaning session was going to be”it”! It was rare that I was out of yoga pants and a tshirtso the options were limited. I was  coming home from work one night and stopped to get groceries before coming home. He had scooped our 14 month old daughter already and I was excited to come home and play! I walked I to our house and noticed a trail of rose petals and notes hanging from the ceiling. Each bite brought back memories from our past and I realized, THIS IS IT!!!
Â
The last few notes lead me into Kinsley’s room and brought up our her birth and the feeling of seeing her for the first time… She is the center of our world. The last note was above her crib where she was standing clapping and read, “remember that time we got engaged?”
Â
I looked down to hug Kinsley and I noticed her onesie said “Mommy, will you marry Daddy??” And of course I said, YESSSsSs!!!
Travis and Amanda, thank you for an incredible session!!! I had a BLAST with you two and so glad we had this time together before your big day next year!!!! Eeep! SO excited! Thanks again and enjoy your photos!!! xoxo
