Happy New Year! I realized I did not have the chance to wish that yesterday on everyone’s day off. Never too late as I basically have this whole month to say that, right? And to start out this posting, I wrote in the title space, “2013 Resolutions”. Not sure if I’m in the mindset of 2014 yet. Oh goodness! Lol! Good thing I caught that one. š
This year I want to set new highs and standards! I want to continually top the next and I cannot allow myself to hit a plateau. I was chatting with Kyle’s sister in law last night and it totally makes sense! As an artist, it can be a struggle ā¦ struggle to feel like you are producing the art you want to. I know where I want to go and this is why a new year is going to better myself and my business! I would LOVE to see my business hit new highs this year as it might be difficult compared to last years! But that’s why setting new goals are good because then I have somewhere to GO! A push is exactly what I need to feel growth and continue pouring my passion in this. A great fear of any business owner is to get burnt out. I want to beat the odds of the typical five year owner and surpass it! š Even though my business is only 1.5 years old, I see great potential and I’m excited to see where God, family, friends, supporters and clients take me!
2014 BUSINESS RESOLUTIONS
*Continue meeting local photographers by hosting get togethers! Super fun!
*Update/Tweak Website
*Not take on weekend sessions. Weekends only for weddings and family time! š
*Feature more of my weddings and sessions
*Organize for the new year
*Blog earlier than posting at noon ā¦ I have been slacking!
*Keep up to date with other photographers and share the support
*Finish compiling all of my info for my bridal guide ā¦ whew! This is a ton of work!
*Create another sample album
*Be active with social media to continue spreading my business name (such a powerful tool!!! Fact: I have never paid for advertising!)
*Stay on top of finances and figure out a good structure now that it is my full time job and make a living from it. Also put away money for when I retire. I just put money away before the new year towards my ROTH because I know that when you are in your 20s, this is the most powerful time to be active in investing and saving!!!
*Attend a workshop or conference! I’ve done a few and absolutely LOVE the motivation and education I walk away with!
*Possibly host another workshop with Sonya Ruth Photography! š
*Host a styled shoot
*Shoot personal work during the winter season
*Create new and different ideas for sessions, business, marketing and my clients (already in the process!!!!!)
2014 PERSONAL RESOLUTIONS
*Waking up consistently (this can be applied towards a business goal). I really need this to happen because I have noticed ever since not working as a graphic designer and now making my own hours, I do not wake up as early as I would like. Sooooo this is a must!
*Continually pray, read and praise God. I cannot EVER forget my thankfulness to Him! š
*Working out (of course on EVERYONE’S resolution) ā¦ but I really want to do more mud runs this year! I have an exciting plan for this one once I get details put together! AHHH I’m SO excited!!!
*You know ā¦ the typical resolution of “eating healthier”. Don’t we always strive for that?
*Travel!!!
WHAT TO LOOK FORWARD TO IN 2014
*25 booked weddings! I am SO incredibly gracious for all of these lovely brides I have lined up for this year! It is going to another crazy but exciting adventure!
