Weekend Recap

Weekends like this during the “off season” is exactly what I need to help me start off the year right! As you have seen, I’ve been taking this winter season to revamp my business. Reorganizing ā€¦ updating my online presence ā€¦ brainstorming ā€¦ writing out a thousand lists šŸ˜‰ Love this time of the year! As apart of my organizing, this weekend I started to prepackage for the 2014 year! This will be a HUGE help! In my workflow, I plan to ship out packages every Friday following the clients session. Typically each package takes me 20-30 minutes to create. That is a LOT of time when it is mid-wedding season and I’m running around like a chicken! And during the spring/fall season, I have at LEAST 2 boxes to package up per week. I went ahead and packaged 30 portrait boxes, even though last year I shipped out 60 portrait boxes. I believe that number will be lower this year since raising my portrait pricing. I have a fully booked year for 2014 with 28 weddings, so I went ahead and created 30 wedding packages as well. This took me ALL day to do, but it will be SO worth it once the year really begins! This is what my office looked like by the end of the day on Saturday!

Friday, I received my FitBit in the mail! I was so excited to get this thing set up, so 30 minutes before heading out to Mount Vernon, I activated it and set it up. After getting home from the lovely Mount Vernon engagement session, I was able to look up the results ā€¦ 4,000 steps in 1.5 hours! Whew! I’m looking forward to how many steps are taken at weddings! Besides the step counter, I use it for my sleeping as well. It tracks when you are going to sleep and how many times you wake up throughout the night. It’s pretty awesome!

What’s ahead for this week? I’m taking on the big project of revamping my website! Whew! It’s going to be tedious, but I’m looking forward to this! Last week I took on my blog design and I love it with the little tweaks that were made! And I also updated my “Meet Stephanie” page ā€¦ so this was easily a half day project ā€¦ on the other hand, the website will be a different story as I REALLY want to update and revise my site. I’m excited to take on this project for now! Even during my slow season, I’m working a full time and I love it! šŸ™‚ Beginning of this week will be brainstorming and sketching ā€¦ by the end of the week, I hope to start designing in Photoshop and importing in the layout/design. I’m anxious to start the process!
