Weekend Recap

I don’t remember the last time we had THIS much snow throughout one winter season. After taking a trip to California, I think that I’m ready for spring/summer time. πŸ™‚ I want to do a snow session in this magical time, but with the road conditions I think it might hold me back … especially since I live up in the mountains. So I’m thinking this is our last snow storm before spring kicks in … I mean, it is March! πŸ™‚ Cannot wait!

If you want to book Β spring portrait session, my calendar is filling up fast! Please email me at info@stephaniemessick.com if you are interested and want to learn more. πŸ™‚

After all of the praying and crossing fingers I did last week, I ended up with the stomach flu Friday night/evening. Unlike Kyle, the nasty part only lasted half the amount of time as Kyles as his was for a straight 24 hours, while mine was only for 12 hours. Of course though came the aching and no energy as I did not have an appetite until only yesterday. It’s going to take a little bit of time before I can eat a full solid meal, but every little step counts. πŸ™‚ Thankful that Kyle took time off to take care of me and watch Disney movies. Haha!

After feeling better enough to go outside for the first time yesterday, I went out to Starbucks and as I was sitting at a booth with my Chocolate Chai Latte (bad bad bad idea when recovering!), I heard a elderly voice in the background … very cheerful and sweet. I looked up as she was approaching the door to put a face to the sweet voice only finding her to compliment my outfit and my smile. πŸ™‚ Those small things really do make a girls day! After she left Starbucks, a second later I see her coming back in through the door and coming my way. I was getting nervous why she chose me to come up to out of the crowd of people … but then she placed this little post it note with a smiley face on my table. She looked at me and told me to continue my bright smile and that someone was praying for me. Thought this woman came at an unexpected time, but that’s what amazes me! A message sent from God. So so powerful and it made me tear up as she walked away. She graced me with yet another smile on my face. After feeling terribly sick, that’s just what I needed was a smile to cheer my spirits. πŸ™‚ God bless that elderly woman from Starbucks! Haha!

After my Starbucks adventures, I met up with my friend who is GETTING MARRIED this October! Woot woot! We drove out to Davids Bridal to look at bridesmaids dresses and found the perfect one for her big day! πŸ™‚ So excited for her and for her accomplishments she’s made over the months for her planning! After a successful day shopping and finding the Toby Keith Grille, we were heading home praying the ice wouldn’t hit quite yet. She turned on the song she would walk down the aisle and it gave me goosebumps! To think that we will be listening to that exact song in October with her dolled up … cannot wait!!! She’s going to be gorgeous!
