First, HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY (yesterday) to all of the mothers out there! Fortunately for my family and I, we were all able to get together to celebrate how truly great my mom is to us. We met at Prince Michele winery for an AMAZING brunch and then ended with a little tour around. My sister and I even got her to take a photo with us!!!! This, my friends, is a very rare treat! Haha! So blessed and fortunate to have had a loving and caring mom growing up. I hope to be just as strong, encouraging, respectful, enthusiastic woman when it is my turn to be a mother … no worries, this will be YEARSSSSS down the road. 😉 Thanks mom for an amazing day yesterday with you!
Now to catch up with this weekend … well, the rain was at it AGAIN with its threats. I heard this past wedding that we are anticipated to have a wet summer. I’ll be praying that every wedding until the end of this year … and the next … and the next … will allow us to get through the wedding rain free. Afterwards of course, it can rain. 😉 Honestly though, I reassure my couples that we can get the photos we need even if it does happen to rain. Everything will work out after all!
It was honestly quite a hectic last few weeks. I’ve been traveling a lot around the state in all different directions for sessions/weddings and fortunately for me, it looks like my schedule is a little more under control now from here on out. 🙂 I’m booked for this month and majority of June … speaking of which, can you BELIEVE June is just around the corner?! The half way point of 2014?! Say what?! I’m honestly a little bummed that my birthday is then and I’ll be turning an age that really is making me feel old ONLY because I’m officially getting kicked off my parents health insurance. I realized that is the only bummer about being self employed … no benefits to health insurance. But that is okay because I would not want my career situation ANY other way. Really!!!! I’ve been there when working full time and having a business off to the side … and see, even when I write out “off to the side”, you know I had to have been struggling! Those days, I was toughing through every night and day! Staying up until 5 a.m. editing/emailing/packaging/etc. and then getting up at 7:30 a.m. for work … it was ROUGH. I am SO fortunate to have this as my only job and I LOVE it! Just trying to work through the little things self employers have to work through (401K, health insurance, quarterly taxes, etc.). Cheers to all self employers! 🙂
I have a couple of portrait sessions to share with you all this week along with a wedding from this past Saturday . SO glad the weather held up for all of these sessions/wedding!!! Let’s keep it this way! 😉
