Weekend Recap

For the first time in a LONG time, I had a weekend off! Weird. So weird. Being that it is October and one of the busiest portrait/wedding months of the year. You know what? I’m so thankful! I have not been able to slow down in a longggggg time. Although, being the planner I am, I had plans all lined up for this weekend and it went down the drain due to this rainy weather. This left me standing in my house asking myself, “now what”? What do people do over the weekends?! I promised myself that I wasn’t going to work on business stuff and leave it for the weekdays, but yet again found myself stepping foot into my pink, floral world of my office. 🙂 When I walked in, it was in a different perspective. Not that I HAD to be in there to sit down at my computer to do marketing stuff or editing, but to sit down and make a to do list of projects I want to accomplish during my slow season. I loved sitting down with my pink floral handmade binder, not feeling rushed what-so-ever, and brainstorm. It was the right alone time I needed! Believe me, I covered an ENTIRE page of projects. I’m not going to expect just little ol’ me to complete this just in the next few months. I’m thinking long term projects as well …. with a little emphasis to complete majority of the projects before April 2015. 😉

Besides brainstorming my own projects, I was able to catch up with my bestest friends this past weekend! Just what a girl needs in her life after isolating herself away from society majority of 2015! I have missed my friends, but I always know that they are there for me when I am finally able to step out of my office. I am so thankful for them! I was able to help Amanda plan/decorate for her wedding day coming up in now less than two weeks! (AH!!!) I’ll admit that it is so fun to take on wedding details! Cannot even try to imagine what my future wedding will be like after seeing all of my bride’s beautiful plans! I’m excited to see my friend’s wedding come together! It’s going to be a gorgeous and unforgettable day!!! Besides spending time with my friends, I was also able to finally catch up with cleaning my house (YES!) and go grocery shopping! Probably one of the most healthy trips I have ever made! So proud of myself … now the hard part of not eating bread and cheese for breakfast, lunch, dinner AND dessert. 😉 I’ll admit, I’m addicted to carbs!

After catching up with friends, I was able to spend time with Kyle and his family for the weekend. A HUGE Congrats to Brian and Nicole as they celebrate the birth of Harper! A 100% natural birth may I add! After her talking about the experience she went through, I give her huge props for being a super mom! I was able to hold the little one for the first time yesterday and I felt so stiff thinking how fragile she could be. Really, newborns are tough but I’ll never get over that thought. Maybe one day I will … one day. Not for a longgggggg time though! 🙂 And this is me below holding onto Harper really freaking out that I’m holding her! Haha!

Today, my family and I celebrate the life of my Great Uncle David! I’m glad to know that my Grandaddy has his brother with him in Heaven. I miss them so much! It was a very unexpected passing, so I’m praying for his wife to be able to ease her way into this new life. It’s not going to be easy at all as I watched first hand my grandmother adjusting to hers over the past year and some months. I’m sure there is not a day that goes by where she doesn’t think of him. Both my Grandaddy and Great Uncle David were both married to their wives for well over 60 years. That. Is. Amazing. They truly loved one another through everything they have been through. Just think about what went on in their lives … wars, depression, technology changes …. everything! I really look up to their marriage and only pray that my couples will have a long life together as well.

This week is going to be a little bit slower than my typical weeks. I don’t have a wedding to edit from this past weekend, but I’ll be preparing for my “Get to Know Your Camera Workshop” this Saturday! Wohoo! I’m SO excited for this workshop/presentation!!! It’s going to be awesome hanging out with everyone and chatting about photography! 🙂 Cannot wait! So besides that, I have this lovely couple, Kyle and Taylor, below coming to the blog tomorrow! Wohoo! If this rain eventually lets up, I’ll have more sessions to share on the blog this week … I guess we will see what this forecast brings in the next few days. 🙂 I hope everyone has a wonderful start to their work week! xoxo
