Well this is a first! I’ve photographed couples in the sight of a bull (pinned up), but never have photographed a couple in the same open field as a bull … while wearing a RED coat! Lol! I honestly had a mini freeze when Peter looked over at me and said it looked like the bull was joining us for the evening. Great! … NOT! 😉 When I glimpsed over at him, he was starring right back. I was honestly a little scared and kept checking my back in the hopes he wasn’t charging me blind sighted. Everything was fine though! I trusted Peter and Stephanie since it didn’t look like they were freaking out. I’ll admit that it was worth the initial scare to be in the beautiful field. To add to the “stories of photography” … I was walking around with Peter and Stephanie finding the right locations for their photos. I failed to realize that when I was showing them where to pose I sat right in a pricker bush! What in the world was I THINKING?! Not only was my behind punctured with little thorns, but my boots that had cotton on the top was covered in the prickers. Meaning sore fingers pulling them off days after. 😉 Oh what a session I will never forget! Haha!

This couple has an AMAZING set up for their wedding day! An old barn on the top of a hill overlooking Culpeper and the mountain scape in the distance … Seriously?! To say the least, I’m excited to photograph their special day next spring! Peter’s family owns the gorgeous property, so naturally it is appropriate for them to host the big event there. 🙂

Peter and I were great friends throughout high school. It wasn’t until freshman year of college when we actually started dating. He was attending VCU which required us to have a long distance relationship, so I was really excited when he moved up to Manassas for his new job and to be close to me after graduation.

It was getting close to our 4 year anniversary when he had asked for us to go on Mt Pony for the day with our dog, Chloe. It is his family owned farm land overlooking the town of Culpeper where we spend a lot of time with each other and with our friends. We try to take pictures of the mountains every season so it didn’t surprise me at all that he had wanted to spend the day up there. It was a snowy day and we had been playing with Chloe for a while when he said he wanted to take a picture of us. While sitting in the snow shivering, he kept telling me to adjust Chloe’s collar. After a few attempts I noticed a zip tie on her collar and was very puzzled. I looked down and realized something was attached to it….a beautiful ring! The entire time I’m discovering the ring, he’s snapping away on my camera. Then he runs over to me and asks me to marry him! By this time, the snow was hitting harder and we both laughed as I accused him of crying. Of course he denied and blamed the snow on getting in his eyes 🙂 he later explained that I once told him I had hoped that my proposal would be captured on camera for memory sake and that it would include Chloe 🙂

Thank you Peter and Stephanie for an amazing time in downtown Culpeper and on the farm! I seriously cannot WAIT for your wedding day after seeing the farm setup!
