I’ll be honest, there are times I do NOT trust the weather people. Before walking out the door, I checked the weather and we made the decision to move forward and start 15 minutes earlier than the contracted time to ensure we finish the session before the rain came in at 5 p.m. We were trying to think ahead to make sure they had a full session without being rained out. I was driving through Delaplane, Virginia on my way to the engagement session when the rain started up. Ohhhh goodness … I immediately called my family asking what the weather forecast was saying. It was one of those times that when I looked at the map, the big rain cloud that was heading this way somehow disappeared, but then an hour later the rain cloud decided to stay and rain the first part of Tyler and Kimberly’s engagement session. I was bummed to see this, but they were so easy going and were up for anything! So we went for it! Fortunately for us, the rain stopped and we continued forward like it never happened. 🙂 So thankful for Tyler and Kimberly!
When they first told me that they have known each other SINCE middle school, my mouth dropped! To say the least, they know each other VERY well! 🙂 I’m excited to see where the future takes them! After their wedding, they will be off to where Tyler’s training will be as he will be serving our country. Speaking of which, thank you to all veterans for serving! I cannot respect you enough for what you have done for us! This goes out to those who are in training, currently serving and those who have served. Big or small role, you are making the difference and we cannot thank you enough! Happy Veterans Day!
Tyler and Kimberly’s Love Story
from Kimberly’s perspective
I do not want to say it was love at first sight for me. But it was one of those things where I just knew. The more I got to know Tyler, the more I wanted him to be mine forever. I started to like Tyler in middle school. We became best friends and started to share everything with each other. We spent a lot of time together doing extracurricular activities like youth group and sports. We both spent our entire high school years running cross country and track. One day he finally realized I was it and he asked me to be his girlfriend and I of course said yes. We started dating our sophomore year of high school. We love being outside and going on new adventures. There is never a dull moment. We have been together for almost 6 years now. I am very hard to surprise because I pay attention to everything. On September 8th, 2014 Tyler and I went to national harbor. I was not expecting anything crazy to happen because he asked so randomly if we had time to go on a date. He had been gone all summer for the Army so I thought it would be great to just catch up and spend time at our favorite spot. We had dinner on our favorite bench while the sun was setting. I did not expect anything right up until the moment where I noticed he was not eating very much of his food. He then got on one knee and said, “Kimberly Mae Baker, you were never an ‘if’ for me. Will you marry me?” Of course I started bawling and said yes. I cannot wait to spend forever and today with him.
