Couples Tower Isle | Jamaica Vacation

Kyle and I tell each other that it is important to travel while we are young. I have no idea how we are going to top off this year next year! We went to Jamaica with the purpose of getting away and relaxing. This vacation we decided to leave ALL technology at home (except our phones). No nice camera or laptop … nothing. All of these photos below are IPhone quality, but it worked for capturing the relaxed/casual moments. πŸ™‚ I don’t think I talked about business at all during our time there together, except for our travels back home when I started making my “to do list”. I catch myself talking too much business around family/friends, but honestly it is hard not to when it is my LIFE. Realizing that I can walk away from my business for a week and know it is still running properly was reassuring. Although, I don’t think my “away message” worked for my business account. Need to work on that. πŸ˜‰ I didn’t let that worry me … after all, I was surrounded by men who say, “no worries, mon!”. Lol!

Let me rave for a minute about our resort, Couples Tower Isle in Ocho Rios, Jamaica! We had complimentary shuttle from the airport, which was amazing because I didn’t realize it was an hour and a half away. Before we even got on the shuttle, we were directed to a bar to pick up a complimentary drink to have on the shuttle ride. Oh by the way, this resort was all inclusive. πŸ™‚ Drinks and all food were covered … maybe not so great when you’re on a diet!!! Once we arrived at Tower Isle, they immediately greeted us and gave us cold washcloths to cool off. Although, Jamaica temperature is just my kind of weather! We got settled in and went straight to the beach! A server cameΒ up to us with a flag to wave in the air if we ever needed a drink. I had a Pina Colada every day! πŸ™‚

Food was amazing with great variety! Make sure if you were to do an all inclusive resort, book your reservations as soon as you arrive! My mom told us that before we left and I am so glad she did because we were able to sit in fancy restaurants with five course meals. Apparently, most people will see these fancy restaurants but think you have to pay extra for them … you do not! These restaurants are still a part of your all inclusive deal. I guess again, it depends on the resort. We had the best time eating an assortment of foods and drinks throughout our time there. I had a LOT of Pina Coladas. By the end of the week, my new favorite drink was the Jamaican Smile. πŸ™‚ It’s a drink with Pina Colada mixed with Strawberry Daiquiri and Rum Cream.Β Yummy!

The service there at the resort was AMAZING! It seemed like our cleaning lady was cleaning our room four times a day for no reason! Haha! Basically everyone there was so nice and sweet. Very personable as well. πŸ™‚ We would walk around the resort pounding fists with the workers and saying “yah mon”! Haha! Loved the environment. πŸ™‚

Half way through our week there, a gloomy cloud came over us and hovered there the remainder of the trip. It was definitely a damper because the waves were too rough to do any excursions and at that point we only took advantage of the kayaking with anticipation to do WAY more. It’s okay though because we made the most of our time there by relaxing and getting excited for any little bit of sun that popped out for a moment of time. πŸ™‚ During the last four days of our time there, the workers were hard at work cleaning the beaches from the seaweed that was piling up (you’ll see the photo below). At least we saw how pretty the beach is when we first arrived. They suggested that we come during the spring/summer time to escape the “rainy season”. Good mental note! On our last day, I woke up at 7 a.m. to see the sun out … I started running around like crazy getting my stuff together so we had enough time to run outside to enjoy a little bit of sun before we left for the airport at 8:15 a.m. Haha! And we did. πŸ™‚ Great way to end the trip with a little bit of sunshine!

We didn’t take many photos, but I’m glad we did take some to remember the time there. If you have any questions about this resort or visiting Jamaica, comment below. πŸ™‚ Or maybe you have been before and have some favorite details to share?

SO excited when I got my hands on a coconut! Exactly what I hoped for. πŸ™‚
Processed with VSCOcam with c1 presetWe had the most gorgeous first couple of days in Jamaica!!! I tried taking advantage of the sunshine, but unfortunately SOMEONE got a little too much sun … meaning IΒ sat in the shade with Kyle for a part of those sunny days. It was okay though because I came there with the purpose of relaxing, not to necessarily get a tan. πŸ˜‰

Processed with VSCOcam with c1 presetThennnnnnn the gloomy clouds settled in for the remainder of the week … so four out of the seven days we were there was in a rainy mess. Unfortunate that we didn’t get to spend as much time on the beach doing the excursions, but we played a lot of intense Scrabble and read the Hunger Game series. πŸ™‚
Processed with VSCOcam with c1 presetThis is what the beaches looked like every day for the last three days … all of that brown stuff was seaweed exfoliating from the sea. There were PILES of it everywhere! Definitely a sight to see! Unfortunate it had to happen while we were there, but after the week was all settled and done, I was the most relaxed I have been in a long time! πŸ™‚
Processed with VSCOcam with c1 presetLast night in Jamaica! Didn’t really take many photos, so at least I was able to get one last shot before leaving. And the beach was semi cleared from the seaweed at this point. πŸ™‚

Overall, it was an AMAZING trip!!! I would suggest that if you were to go to Jamaica go during the spring/summer time. πŸ™‚ They told us that we came during their “rainy season” … which is ironic to me because I purposefully scheduled the vacation around hurricane season and before winter season for us! They say during the spring/summer time, they have sun every day. πŸ™‚ Just a word of advice!

So glad you had an awesome time! I love all-inclusive resorts, you never have to worry about paying for anything or tipping. Makes it even more relaxing! We have been to the Caribbean several times in January, and that seems to be a good time to go. Weather is nice and it’s definitely a nice escape from VERY cold weather at home.

I suspect you were drinking Jamaican Rum Cream … not Irish Cream. Love that Rum Cream!!! Yah mon!

Your post just got me really excited for April! What was your favorite restaurant?
