With the New Year just days away, I’m learning how much of a workaholic I truly am. Not sure if it is really because I’m busy or if I am creating this busy lifestyle. Typically, this time should be a resting time … or what I thought would be a resting time. These past weeks have been anything but 100% relaxing. I have been consistently going to bed at 3 a.m. with a ton more on my to do list! I have a personal/business to do list before the end of this year and now that the end of the year is just a couple days away, it’s making me question if I could have done things differently. I can be hard on myself when it comes to my to do list, especially when I do not take in account REALISTICALLY how long that project will take. Today, I plan to take one of those things on my to do list and let it happen when the timing is right, not by a date. It’s not worth the struggle when this time should be about reflecting on the 2014 year. 🙂
What I can say is that I am SO thankful for this guy! He is dealing with my craziness during this time and I appreciate his patience while I work hard to complete my to do list. 🙂 It has been a crazyyyyyyy winter, but I know that a slow season will eventually come … right? Shout out to my sister and second shooter, Amanda, for taking these photos for us on Christmas! 🙂
So what projects am I talking about? You obviously know that I have been working on my new website. 🙂 That is a huge one! I have everything completely done except for narrowing down the new photos from this year … it’s a CHALLENGE!!! I’m glad I have the website in place and designed so that is definitely an accomplishment. Once I have the photos in place, it will be ready for it’s debut! 🙂
As a BIG Christmas present to my parents this year, my brother, sister and I joined forces to transform their bedroom! They have lived in a WHITE boring bedroom for 28 years!!! No decor … white walls … no style whatsoever. We put our money together, I drew up a design and the day after Christmas we got started! In my notes, I thought I would have finished by yesterday …. pshhhhhhh what was I thinking?! We are very close though! Just finished painting the room yesterday (ceiling, tray ceiling and the walls) and that was an all day process since we wanted to do this the right way. Today, we are hoping to completely finish the room. 🙂 YAY! One thing to cross off my to do list! We have all of the decor in place that we bought on Friday and now it is the fun part (the part I’ve been waiting for)! Photos to come veryyyyyyy soon! Hopefully it comes out how I imagined. 🙂
Another project I’ve been currently working on is a festive New Years Eve skirt! I was inspired on Pinterest (of course!) by seeing a long glittery gold skirt and thought I could make one myself. Whew! What was I thinking on top of everything else I’m trying to complete before 2015?! I love sewing when I have the timeeeeee, but I knew that this should an easy project. It will look like the photo above but in all gold. I’m currently at the half way point and looking forward to sharing photos once it is done!!!
My last big project I wanted to complete before the 2015 year was completely redecorate my office space. I may have to put that on hold in the meantime. It’s not something that HAS to be done right at this second, but I would of course love to! Again, it’s not worth the stress. I have developed a design plan of what I want to change and I’m excited to bring my new upscaling brand to life! At least that is done, just implementing it will take some time as I have to go out and shop for the supplies. Cannot wait to start!
Looking at these projects that I need to complete on top of other tasks … I only have TWO days! I came to the realization that it’s okay if my website doesn’t debut on January 1st or my new office design isn’t put together. These are still things I will tackle FIRST thing in 2015, I just need to take care of my body, mind and soul first. 🙂
