Weekend Recap

wedding_header

Finally, it hit me. Thursday at midnight I felt my stomach turning which led me to laying in bed all day on Friday. Thankfully, it was just the 24 hour stomach bug without it lasting any longer than needed! This happened to Kyle and I last year around this time and just praying that Kyle doesn’t catch it this round! Many family/friends of mine had it around Christmas season and I thought I was in the clear … WRONG! 😉

As you know, this winter I have been doing so much with my business (inside and outside). I have been running around at a high pace that there was really no time to slow down for the “slow season”. Well, this sickness brought me to my place. Friday I did not to do any business work (anyone would have called in a sick day … why shouldn’t I call one too?). Instead, I read a book that I picked up from a thrift shop last summer, #GirlBoss! If you haven’t read it and you are a woman entrepreneur … it’s a must! Hilariously written with some great encouraging and motivating tips! Perfect for a sick day in bed. 🙂 I didn’t realize how popular of a book it is after seeing it on many of my Instagram friends photos! Glad I picked it up when I did!

Being that I felt 100% myself Saturday morning, I felt restricted at home because I could not go out and have a free weekend. Instead, I wanted to protect those around me to not get this sickness … well, Super Bowl Sunday is inevitable (I just kept my hands to myself). What do people typically do with a weekend to themselves?! I honestly had NO idea what to do if I didn’t want to touch business stuff or go out in public … and that is the thing! My business always has filled in those areas where I felt “bored”. I found it more satisfying to go in my office and cross another “winter to do project” off my list. Sometimes, God stops us in our tracks. I was using my to do list as my happiness. What kind of life is that?! Of course though, it is fine to do these ambitious projects but over free weekends when I could be LIVING my life … that’s foolish. In a way, I am glad I had this slap in the face Friday. Well, except the fact that it was the nasty stomach flu … besides the point, I am happy to know there is more beyond a simple horizontal line across the paper. Cheers to the start of a fresh and new week! HOPING for lots of snow on Thursday … please??!?!?!?!

I’m VERY excited to finally reveal my “upscaled” office space WEDNESDAY on the blog! Be on the look out! 🙂
