We arrived at the gorgeous Sky Meadows Park and realized we were walking into a reenactment! Really … tents were set up! Haha! We carried on with our session but I had to laugh when some kids were running around us in circles as I was taking photos of Matt and Taylor, like we were a tree or something! Lol! There’s a first for everything I suppose! 😉
I absolutely love these two! Not to mention, they are both JMU Alumni! GO DUKES!!!!! It looks like I have quite a few JMU couples this year. 🙂 I love that!!! Matt and Taylor started their engagement journey at the beautiful Old House Vineyard, where they will be tying the knot this summer and I cannot wait for their joy filled wedding day! I know it is going to be an incredible celebration. <3
Matt & Taylor’s Love Story
How they met:
Matt took an internship at the Powell Wellness Center in Culpeper, Virginia, where he met Taylor, who was a full-time personal trainer. They immediately sparked up a conversation and found out they are both graduates of James Madison University, took many classes in the same building, and even shared mutual friends. It wasn’t long before an amazing friendship blossomed; little did they know it would be the foundation of a wonderful and amazing romantic relationship. Before long, they were inseparable, and after a year or so, decided to stop kidding themselves and take their friendship to the next level. They never looked back.
The Proposal:
For Matt’s birthday, Taylor bought sessions to go skydiving. It was the perfect scenario for an unsuspecting girlfriend. Matt had it all planned out: He put the ring in the toe of his shoe, let both of their instructors in on his plan to propose to Taylor that day, and how he wanted to do it. His plan was to leave the plane first with his instructor, swoop down to the ground before her, and as she was on her way to Earth, be there on bended knee waiting for her. Unfortunately, some plans change. An unexpected mass of clouds swept in and they had to post-pone their jump for another day. However, Matt had woken that morning with his mind set: Taylor Davidson was going to be his fiancé by the end of that day. Since his original plan had been foiled, he had to think on his feet: a winery. Taylor and Matt, along with her sister, went to Old House Vineyards in Culpeper for some wine and a brick oven pizza. After a bottle or two of wine, Matt suggested they explore the grounds, since Taylor had never been there before. They eventually ended up on the island where weddings take place. It was at that moment where Matt took Taylor by the hand, gazed into her eyes, dropped to one knee, and asked her to be his wife. Between her questions of “What are you doing?” and “Is this real life?!” Taylor was able to mutter a “yes,” and allow him to slide the ring on her finger, thus sealing the deal and the beginning of a new adventure. A match made in heaven.
