Weekend Recap

wedding_header

I’m writing todays blog post in my living room as roofers are banging above me this morning installing a tin roof. This is going to be brief because it’s hard to concentrate today because A) it’s Monday and B) banging noises echoing throughout the house isn’t pleasant. 😉 I hope everyone enjoyed their Father’s Day yesterday! I surprised my dad with a little goodie basket of some favorite candies and supplies to make a root beer float. Haha! Food seems to be the way to his heart. Although, I was tempted to bring him an apple in the mixture of the not-so-healthy basket I prepared. 😉 Not sure I would have had the same reaction though. Ha! Anyways, we celebrated the late afternoon by cooking out which ultimately resulted in me gaining 2 pounds … I’m going to be running my booty off at the gym today and get back on track with my diet! Geez…

I’m excited to share that my JMU college roommate is expecting!! YAY! We got together Friday evening and photographed in a field of wheat. It was magical. Cannot wait to share more tomorrow! Saturday was spent at Anthony and Ashley’s wedding and my goodness, God answered our prayers! They started the ceremony and rain started to come down. Fortunately, the sun came out and the rain stopped until the last minute of portraits! Once we made it inside after seeing close call lightning, the scary storm arrived and made sure we noticed. The lights flickered and I saw out the window … nothing. I couldn’t see anything because the rain was pouring that hard! I’ll be getting more into the story on Wednesday but it resulted in a double rainbow so there was some good out of the brief storm! 🙂

See the double rainbow?! It was only there for … I’m not kidding … 15 seconds! By the fifth photo of Anthony and Ashley, it was gone! Glad we were able to snag this when we did!
