Looking back months ago when Jess emailed me asking if I would be her wedding photographer, it always feels like a proposal! Lol! I was ECSTATIC! Especially since it was a destination wedding to one of my all time favorite beaches. 2007 was my first time coming to Corolla but I have somehow managed to squeeze in some other beach trips down there over the years. There is something so different about Outer Banks … Yes, the traffic can be HORRENDOUS but if you know how to travel around those times, it’s a piece of cake! What I love the most is the peacefulness of the area. It’s way different from Ocean City, Virginia Beach … you get the point. If wild horses can walk down the beach right passed you then that’s where I want to be! Taylor and Jess chose Corolla because they wanted just that. A relaxing and stress-free wedding. Yes there were many details involved when putting together their special day especially hours away from the venue, but you know what Jess said to us during the wedding I thought was KEY to having a stress-free wedding? … “I probably forgot something but that is totally okay!” It is what it is! After witnessing how amazing, relaxing and how sincere Taylor and Jess’ wedding was last Sunday, I now want a destination wedding in the future! It could not have been more perfect! Their details were simple but meaningful and a great compliment to the beach theme. Handmade seashell bouquets the bride made along with the barefoot sandals the groom’s sister made were perfect beach accessories for the bridal party. Not to mention, little fish in the reception centerpieces! What a cute and unique ideas!!!
Once the party really started … I will never forget this … Jess flagged me over to chat with her for a sec. She looked at me and said at 10:15 p.m., they are jumping into the pool! WHAT?! Seriously?! That is the coolest thing ever! <= Is what I thought! So right after Taylor and Jess had me dance with them to “Watch Me” (after learning the dance on Friday, I was readyyyyy to groove with them), everyone counted down and jumped into the pool in their wedding attire! Pretty epic ending to an incredible day! Just see for yourself! 🙂
