Josh, Lindsey and I casually met at Matt and Taylor’s wedding this past summer. What a party Matt and Taylor had! I can only imagine what kind of celebration Josh and Lindsey will throw at one of my favorite venues, Morais Vineyard! A couple months ago, we had the chance to sit down and get to know each other a little better and I could not be more thrilled to be their wedding photographer! They are not only an adorable, happy couple together, but they are SUPER sweet, thoughtful and fun! After discussing their 2017 wedding, we started brainstorming ideas for their engagement session and came up with the perfect backdrop as they wanted a good mixture of town/park, so downtown Alexandria was a great combo! What an amazing time we had together! They were ALL smiles the entire time … with good reasoning of course. 😉 Cannot wait for their big day!
JOSH & LINDSEY’S LOVE STORY
How Josh and Lindsey Met
from Josh’s perspective
We both arrived in Radford the weekend prior to the beginning of our seniors year with the intent of going out and having a good time before the serious school work started. She was in a sorority that interacted with my fraternity frequently but somehow we had never crossed paths until that final Saturday night of summer. She walked past me at a party and her seemingly shy smile and perfect dimples struck me as the most beautiful I’d ever seen in my life. I tried my best at making small talk and somehow it must have worked because we ended up sitting down on a couch laughing, talking, and sharing stories for the entire night until almost 3AM. We continued to hang out for the following months as our friendship grew into something much more. We went to each other’s date parties and banquets, but one of her date parties stands out in my memory. Her sorority was hosting and when we arrived at her chapter house, we didn’t mingle with anyone but each other and ended up having another long night of talking to each other as if we were the only two people in the room. We both realized at the same moment that what we had was more than a friendship, and that it would become even more than just another relationship…..we were going to be together, forever.
How Josh proposed to Lindsey
from Lindsey’s perspective
Josh planned a weekend getaway to the Finger Lakes in Upstate New York. We had plans to go to wineries, stay in different bed & breakfasts, and explore! Our first stop was NYC because I had never been before and then we drove up to Branchport, NY. It was just a regular day full of exploring wineries (one of our favorite things), but little did I know he planned the perfect proposal months ago!! He researched the different wineries in that area and picked the winery with the best view of one of the Finger Lakes. Heron Hill Winery was the winner! He called the winery before our trip and coordinated with them the perfect place to propose. After our wine tasting, we had reservations at the winery’s cafe that overlooked one of the Finger Lakes, Keuka Lake. He told me that he was going to give our wine taster his camera (who was in on this whole thing the entire time) to take pictures of us in front of the lake. I had no idea what was about to happen!
As we were starting to pose for the picture he turned to me and said “You know what would make this picture better? If I was down on one knee.” He then continued to tell me why he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me and asked me to spend forever with him…and of course I said YES–between the many tears! And if I thought it couldn’t get any better, the ring box video taped the entire proposal! It was more than I could have ever imagined! I am so happy that I have finally found my Prince Charming. Forever is sure lookin’ good with you, Josh.
Thank you Josh and Lindsey for an amazingggg time in Alexandria! Loved our time together and cannot WAIT for May 2017!!!!!! Enjoy some of my favorites! xoxo!
CONGRATS on your engagement!!! XOXO!
