Introducing the Runaway Brides 5k Fun Run!!!!
The idea of this came up over a year ago and finally, I was able to make the move during this winter season! And goodness, the time is approaching fast when the event will be held! After sitting down with Marriott Ranch in Hume, Virginia, we finalized April 2nd as our date! Mark your calendars ladies! This event is for ALL brides and bridesmaids in the Virginia/DC Metro area! If you remember, every year I have tried to gather my brides to do a fun run. We have done a foam run as well as a color run, but I thought how fun for it to be a bigger event specially for brides and her bridesmaids? This year, I’m kicking it up a notch and making this a public event that is geared towards the wedding industry. 🙂
So what’s involved with this fun run event that makes it different from the rest? Brides and her bridesmaids from all over will join together on April 2nd, 2016 at the gorgeous Marriott Ranch in Hume, Virginia to join forces and support two local charities while having FUN! Everyone will be encouraged to dress their part to make this a memorable occasion. Brides can wear white tutus and veils while her girls can wear the bride’s wedding colors so there is a bit of uniformity within the group! The talented DJ Craig Wood will help start the party with some popular jams at the starting line at 9 a.m. As the girls are released, they will encounter a fun wedding-related activity every half mile. The activities range from a mini cake tasting to even practice throwing the bouquet! The lighthearted spirit of the event will keep everyone smiling from one activity to the next making the run … actually FUN! 😉 At the finish line there will be a mini bridal show showcasing preferred vendors in the area. This is a great opportunity to network with vendors, create memories with your best friends and meet new friends while supporting two great wedding-related charities!
More importantly, we want the girls to have the BESTÂ time together but we also believe it is important to give back. The proceeds from this event will be given to two very special local charities, both which deal with the wedding industry. I was immediately drawn to helping Forever Angels of Virginia especially when I saw they were in need of donations. If you haven’t heard of their cause, I HIGHLY recommend for you to check them out because what they are doing is amazing with old wedding gowns! I was also drawn to helping St. Anthony’s Bridal as they help brides who cannot afford their own wedding. Both are incredible and selfless organizations, which are enough reasons why we want to help the cause. Thanks to your registration of $25 (early bird special going on until March 26th!!), they will be one more step closer to their dreams!
