As you all know, this weather has been SO unpredictable! The week leading up to Todd and Lynee’s engagement session, the weather looked GREAT for our scheduled date/time … until the day of. I checked the weather one last time that morning while prepping for their session only to find out that the weather forecasters were calling for thunderstorms at the last minute. What the heck! Unfortunately, this was our backup plan because the first scheduled session was rained out as well. I urgently contacted Todd and Lynee to see if there was any flexibility to reschedule but at that point we had to just go for it. I was nervous because the weather just never seemed to be 100%. We decided to get together earlier in the evening to avoid the later thunderstorms but it turned out that a few of the rain showers came through earlier than expected. Fortunately by time I pulled up to the beautiful Ashby Inn to meet with Todd and Lynee, the rain was trickling away. We knew another storm was heading our way so we worked with the time given. Ended up working out because we were able to have a full session together without umbrellas! PTL!!! We ended up with some pretty, even lighting. <3
It was so much fun photographing these two because I originally met Lynee at her sister’s wedding, Keith and Alicia, a few years ago. Lynne and Alicia are some gorgeous sisters!!! I asked Todd and Lynee how they met and she told me they met over a few glasses of wine and some sushi. They really got to know each other during that first date together as they chatted about their cute pups, sports, career and personal interests. The date easily lasted for six hours but could’ve gone on forever as they never wanted to say their goodbyes for the night. 🙂 Fast forward to Todd’s proposal, their adorable family (Todd, Lynee and all of their dogs) drove out to the Blue Ridge Mountains to escape the city scene. The breathtaking views set up the perfect stage for Todd to bend his knee and ask for Lynee’s hand in marriage. Of course she said YES and now they are getting married this fall at one of the most classy venues around! Cannot WAIT!!
