That moment when you are told that the bride has 17 minutes to get dressed and have her first look with her groom before a huge rain storm arrives… Fortunately, no panic attacks! In fact, Amanda was the most calm bride ever as we prepped for her to see Josh. 🙂 Josh took her hand around the barn door and twirled her around to admire his princess. After holding on to each other just thinking how their wedding day finally arrived, we made our way to the vineyard to play in the sunflowers before the rain said hello! I originally planned to take care of the wedding party portraits before the ceremony but we took the chance and decided to wait until after the ceremony for ideal weather. Worth the wait!!! Turned out the rain stopped for a brief moment after we finished up with family formals so we were able to photograph outside! It wasn’t long before the rain came back so we decided to skip ahead to the reception. During the toasts, a beautiful sunset was revealed through the barn doors. Naturally, we ran outside in the rain to get a couple of sunset portraits before the dancing began. Summer storms are great in this case because they are typically short lived. A little rain on a wedding day is good fortune for the bride and groom after all, as the myth says! 🙂
The reception was a party Josh and Amanda were hoping for! Many laughs and even sweet tears were shared during the events throughout the night. A little funny moment was when Amanda decided to have her dress cut. I’ve had bridesmaids do this before to their dresses but never the bride! You would never know that she cut it while boogying on the dance floor but she did it so she can boogie down without worrying about the bustle falling out. 🙂 I loved her spontaneity! After cutting off the remains of the dress train, Josh grabbed Amanda in close for their first dance together as husband and wife. There was something so sweet and special about their dance … As if no one else was around. They were truly soaking in every moment being in each others arms. 🙂 Speaking of dancing, the groom even had a surprise dance with his mom that even surprised me! Oh the joy! You’ll see how much fun they were having on the dance floor. Made me want to join them! 😉 Haha! We all celebrated Josh and Amanda’s special day and danced until the night came to a close. Beautiful celebration for a darling couple!!!
