Tim, Morgan and I met at the beautiful Sky Meadows Park for their sunrise engagement session. We could not technically meet at sunrise, since the park doesn’t open until 8 a.m., so we had to work around the harsh morning light. What wasn’t a challenge was photographing these two! They are some of the cutest, most bubbly, happiest couples I have had the privilege of photographing! I rarely photograph sunrise sessions because I sometimes struggle waking up early, but our time together made that morning alarm worth while. You’ll just see how darling they are together once you read their love stories as well as their engagement portraits. 🙂 🙂 🙂 Thank you Tim for your service!!!!
TIM & MORGAN’S LOVE STORY
How Tim and Morgan Met
from Morgan’s Perspective
Tim and I met while attending Roanoke College together. My sophomore year we lived in the same college dorm named Bowman and we would occasionally bump into each other here and there, but it wasn’t until my junior year and Tim’s senior year of college where we became good friends through some of our mutual friends. After Tim graduated college in 2013 he moved down to North Carolina for his career as a Field Artillery officer in the United States Marine Corps. I finished out my senior year and then graduated in 2014 and moved back to Northern Virginia for my new job local government.
One day Tim liked one of my Facebook profile pictures, which prompted me to send him a message to see how he was doing and to catch up on post grad life. He explained that he was doing great, but leaving for Fort Sill, Oklahoma for a few months for training and would be back to the East Coast in the winter. While Tim was training in Oklahoma we texted back and forth checking in on one another often. When it got closer for Tim to come back to the East Coast he eventually asked me out on our first date! He said he was going to be in Baltimore, Maryland for St. Patrick’s Day weekend and asked me if I would like to join him and a few friends up there. I said yes!!
He came to Virginia and picked me up and drove us to Baltimore, so we could partake in the festivities going on that weekend! We ended up having a wonderful time together. The weekend went by way too fast. Because I lived in Virginia and he lived in North Carolina I wasn’t sure when I would see him again; little did I know later in the week he would ask me out on our second date together and would drive all the way back up to Virginia to see me. I knew on our second date that I loved him and that I was a lucky girl to have found such an amazing man.
How Tim Proposed to Morgan
from Tim’s Perspective
Morgan and I had been talking for a while and then she agreed to meet up with me for a bar crawl in Baltimore for St Patrick’s Day weekend, so I picked her up. We had a great time together and we were half way through the bar crawl and some of my friends wanted to go back to their house for a bit to rest, so Morgan and I crashed on the couch watching Jurassic Park, just hanging out and everyone else wanted to go back out, but we wanted to stay and just hang out, that’s when I knew I loved Morgan.
Morgan and I kept dating through my first deployment and she was always there for me emotionally cheering me up and sending me care packages. I loved getting to hear from her when we got to talk. When I got home from the deployment we went on a Caribbean cruise together, things were great and I was just loving Morgan more and more each day and that’s when I decided that I was going to propose to her. I proposed to Morgan on April 16th, 2016 on Hammocks Beach, NC where I first asked her to be my girlfriend.
Tim and Morgan, thank you so much for a wonderful and joyful time together! Your happiness is SO evident in these photos and I can only imagine what your wedding day will be like! Cannot WAIT! In the meantime, enjoy a preview of your engagement session!!! CONGRATS on your engagement!!! XOXO!
