Mitch & Ashley | Whitehall Estate, Virginia Wedding Photographer

I absolutely adore these two! Their laughter, smiles, laid back and fun attitude rubs on people the right way. It was especially obvious on their wedding day just seeing them interact with their closest family and friends. 🙂 They are so loved! This wedding might possibly be one of the most joyful weddings I have photographed! I’m so relieved how things ended up working out for Mitch and Ashley. 🙂 They deserve the best!

Earlier this year, I received an email from Ashley explaining that her original wedding venue was going bankrupt and was shutting down. A couple of my past brides experienced something very similar to this circumstance so I had faith that everything would work out. Fortunately, they went to Whitehall Estate and the customer service there is superb! It was the perfect backdrop to their special day. 🙂 The best part? We had the most beautiful summer day! Although, I felt bad that Mitch experienced an eye injury just a couple weeks prior but he was a trooper running around in the sunshine when we had the opportunity! Going from a fall wedding (their original date) to a summer wedding, I loved the vision Mitch and Ashley designed with bright, colorful and fun! Bold pinks and oranges is the perfect summer blend. Everything came together beautifully!!!

Mitch and Ashley chose to have a first look to get majority of the photos done before the wedding and because we had the ample time, we chose to walk over to a nearby field where the lighting was luscious. However, we weren’t quite expecting to battle with crickets … Once we walked to the destination in the field, I turned around to see crickets wedging their way up Ashley’s dress in between the lace and tulle layers. At least they weren’t spiders!!!! … But still. Yikes! We had to scare them out which wasn’t a big deal … But after we got back to the house to continue with bridal party photos, we found a cricket who had wedged his way into a part of the dress we couldn’t reach. Fortunately, Ashley’s superhero bridal party came together and finally got the stinker out! These girls are awesome! 🙂 WHEW!

It was finally the moment for Ashley to walk to her soon-to-be-husband standing at the altar. As each step closed the gap between her and Mitch, she could not help but to become emotional. You know how that is … when one person starts crying, it’s a domino reaction! Haha! It was so sweet. 🙂 Every moment of their special day was beautiful and I am incredibly honored to have documented these memories for them to hold on to forever.
