It was last winter when James, Greta and I met for a glass of wine at Potomac Point Winery. We might have been kicked out for staying too late chatting, but I had a great time getting to know them before we got together for their engagement portraits. 🙂 Spring came around, and we had the chance to photograph in the beautiful landscapes of the Vienna Botanical Gardens. Blessed with the ideal weather, we hoped for the same for their special day. Beyond their engagement session, I had the chance to get together with Greta again for a Wine and Design date over the summer. I see a similarity here … We must like wine. 😉 Guess we will need to keep up the tradition in the future!
Saturday was the ideal fall wedding day! Temperatures were mild; the fall leaves were prominent, and the sun was shining! Leading up to James and Greta’s wedding, we talked about having the ceremony indoors in case it was too cold. Not this year! On a quick side note, Greta has to be one of the most organized brides! After I had sent out the final questionnaire to be filled out, she had it ready for me within hours along with timeline spreadsheets. Love it! Haha! When I arrived at Potomac Point Winery, I was excited she hired some of my “friendors.” You know, friends/vendors! It was a good day with old and new friends. 🙂 James and Greta made sure to enjoy a first look together to get a majority of the photos taken care of before the ceremony. Some brides oppose to the first look because they want to have the emotional reaction during the ceremony — Well, let me tell you that James had more emotion during the ceremony seeing Greta walk down the aisle. 🙂 So sweet!! Following the ceremony, we ran around the venue and enjoyed more portrait time until sunset. Perfect timing!
The sun set and soon afterward, we headed inside so James and Greta could get the party started. Dinner concluded, and Greta got up to say a few words and dedicate/gift her bouquet to her dear grandmother. What a sweet idea! 🙂 Later in the evening, a dessert bar was opened where guests had the options of cookies, cupcakes, little goodies to take home and even WINE ice cream! Yes, you read that correctly! I didn’t have the chance to taste it, but I will be back next summer to test out Potomac Point Winery’s wine ice cream! Haha! So unique and fun! The dessert table was a great substitute for the traditional cake as guests went crazy over the dessert bar. Dessert and good music ended the night on a high note! 🙂
Thank you, James and Greta, for giving me the privilege of celebrating with you all! 🙂 Beautiful day from start to finish and I’m glad my business brought you two into my life! I look forward to many more wine dates in the future!! CONGRATS and enjoy this preview! XOXO!
