Friday evening was by far the coldest session I have photographed this year. I arrived early in Downtown Middleburg to scope out some spots for the Baer family portraits and immediately jumped back into my car to warm up before meeting with them. And I thought it was cold then … It wasn’t until we were at the second location when we realized how FREEZING it really was outside. The sun was setting, and our fingers went numb with the blistering wind. It was even a little tricky for me to click the shutter on my camera because I couldn’t feel them! Haha! You better believe I keep a pair of gloves in my car now for those just in case moments! They were so brave standing in that cold air with smiles as if it didn’t bother us. Whew! Glad we got through that experience. 😉 When Jennifer told me she was expecting, I didn’t believe it because she’s so tiny! Haha! I love the name they selected for their expecting little girl. Gemma. 🙂 After our session, I looked up the name meaning and it means, “precious gem.” She is already cherished, adored and loved. Cannot wait for Gemma to make her appearance and meet her family!!!
I have had the privilege of getting to know this lovely family for years through Jennifer’s wedding planning business. I’m so glad the wedding industry brought us together because I have enjoyed many outings with Jennifer for some girl talk. 🙂 I cannot get enough of her little one, Isla! We have become besties from our photo get togethers. 😉 Haha! She’s such a doll! It has been a year since the last time I’ve seen Isla and she made sure to catch me up on her life! It was so cute! She would run around and smile for the camera, then as soon as we started walking to our next destination spot, she would tell me everything from her losing her tooth to her best friends at school. How precious is that? I feel like she needs to come along to the next date Jennifer and I set up. 😉 I know Isla is going to be a wonderful sister to Gemma!
