Do you love a good plaid shirt? Then you’ll love this session because J.Crew plaid has taken over the blog! This was my first time meeting Lane and Jamie, and I felt as though I knew them much longer than an hour and a half. Together, they are fun, sweet, so loving, goofy and down to earth! I could easily photograph them for HOURS. It didn’t take long for their personalities to shine. 🙂 I love that! We took the time to get to know each other as we made our way around the park and I quickly picked up on Lane’s southern etiquette. We drove around together and every time Jamie and I got in or out from the car, he would open and close the door. After all, he comes from Charleston which means you HAVE to read their love story below, especially if you love the southern city! They are so CUTE together!!!

LANE & JAMIE’S LOVE STORY
How Lane and Jamie Met
from Jamie’s perspective
Well, we kinda of knew each other as acquaintances for years before actually meeting and having our first conversation. We both grew up in the AQHA quarter horse world, so we saw each other every other weekend, all summer long. But at a huge three-week long horse show in Columbus, Ohio, we ended up stalled next to each other and quickly became really good friends. We would stay up all night talking about everything under the sun and when it finally came time for us to leave we exchanged numbers. I remember he couldn’t even wait 6 hours before texting me, and he was literally the most amazing, kind, and supportive guy I’ve ever met! A few weeks later I went to a horse show in Camden a few hours away from where he lived in Charleston, South Carolina, he drove all the way out there to see me. At that point, there was no denying that there was definitely more than a spark between us! The very next day he called me and told me he wanted me to be his girlfriend, and he wasn’t going to give up until I agreed. I’m not going to lie I played hard to get but when he surprised me by coming all the way to Virginia I finally gave in, and it was the best thing I’ve ever done! I couldn’t imagine my life without this amazing man in it!
How Lane Proposed to Jamie
from Lane’s perspective
I was planning to propose for about two months before the trip in Charleston, SC. I had told Jamie that we were going to visit my family down there and have some pictures taken, she had absolutely no idea what was about to happen on that trip. About a week before leaving for Charleston, I went to the diamond store to pick up the engagement ring that I had purchased two months prior. Our flight would leave on a Thursday and while Jamie was packing our clothes and shoes I took the ring and stuffed it inside my shoes and she ended up packing her own engagement ring. We arrived in Charleston Thursday afternoon, we spent Thursday and Friday spending it with friends and family. Friday night I took Jamie to a restaurant called Poogins Porch, one of the best restaurants in the country. After dinner I took her to the beach for a long walk just to enjoy the full moon and bright stars, she was completely blown away. Saturday, April 17 was the day of the photo shoot, and the day I would propose to Jamie. I took her to get her makeup and hair done, because she deserved to be pampered and had McLeod Plantation in Charleston rented out for the afternoon. After taking a few pictures, we did an outfit change and the very first picture after we changed was me dropping down to one knee and proposing. Needless to say, SHE SAID YES!!!
Aren’t they precious?! Thank you, Lane and Jamie, for having me photograph you two during this merry time of the year! Enjoy some of my personal favorites from our time together!!! XOXO!!!
CONGRATS, love birds!!!!
