You know, I have lived in my home for almost a year and still have yet to share what I did with my office space! I finished decorating it back in April and never shared the results on the blog. Whoops! I’m FINALLY excited to share another room in my home. It’s smaller compared to my last office, but I actually like the coziness! It’s perfect for my meeting space, suitable for a seating area and desk work zone. Plus, it’s located on the bottom floor so my couples don’t have to go through my kitchen or private space AND there’s a half bath across the hallway, making it super convenient to visitors. I feel in love with the window light and the french doors.
Before moving in any furniture, I did a few things to dress up the room. First, I painted the room a creamy champagne tone because I still wanted the light to bounce beautifully off the walls. I pulled out some wood projects and trimmed the windows. You’ll notice below that I initially put up taller wood trim above the window, but soon realized if I ever want to install crown molding, I wouldn’t have enough room. Glad I caught that, but I think the taller wood trim hinted the illusion of a taller ceiling. Regardless, I stuck to the thinner wood trim and then I painted it white after I installed the board and batten style wood work around the room. It was almost time to move in furniture!!! I had an electrician install a little chandelier and then I changed out the door knobs from the builder grade to crystal door knobs for a classier touch. Here are a few photos before I officially moved in!
It was so nice to finally move in! I kept my design as simplistic as I could since I was basically cutting my old office space in half. It’s cozy, bright, fresh and classy. Check out the results from my hard work earlier this spring!
