Since 2016 ended over a weekend, I failed to share reviews from over the past twelve months! Even my 2017 resolutions! That’s for another blog post, though. 😉 Last year was an adventurous, but super busy one! I’m looking forward to this year for many reasons, but let’s focus on the 2016 year since 2017 is for another day!
Since this is a “highlight reel,” I made sure to throw in some not so great moments like my trip to the dentist and discovering I had a cavity or that time I hit a deer. Definitely not so fun, but that’s life! We have great times and then we run into those unexpected moments. Looking back, I’m thankful for a healthy and successful year full of laughs, tears and a lot of smiling! Thank you all for a fabulous 2016 year!!! Cannot wait to see what 2017 has in store!
JANUARY
* First snow storm of 2016! Remember that one? I originally had plans to go to Las Vegas to photograph/see one of my friends, so I was sad the timing didn’t work out. The snow was beautiful, though!!
FEBRUARY
*Â Officially a homeowner!!! Spent majority of this time painting, installing internet and all kinds of woodwork around the house.
* Photographed a Redskins player! 🙂 What up, Ricky Jean Francois #99! *All the heart eyes!*
* Family vacation to Hawaii, Oahu and the Big Island! The trip was adventurous but a bit of a challenge at the same time. My mom is scarred for life, literally! My dad told her we will continue to vacation until we get it right! 😉
* My grandmother passed, but after seeing a double rainbow at sunset the evening of her viewing AND another rainbow sunrise the day of her funeral, I know she’s in the great hands of God and back in the arms of my granddad. <3
MARCH
* Finally moved into my space and brought my interior decorating to life!
* I was honored to be a part of the Creative @ Heart Conference as a panelist!
APRIL
*Â Organized the first annual Runaway Brides 5k Fun Run!!
* Then I found out I had a cavity at the Dentist that month … No one ever said highlights are always great!
* Hosted an open house to close family and friends and it was a success!
MAY
* Business was too good to me. In fact, I didn’t really have a life outside of working this month! I’ll work on slimming down my schedule this year so I’m not working 70 hours a week. 😉
JUNE
* Celebrated my 28th Birthday! Where are the years going? Yikes!
* I also celebrated being in business for four years!!
* Destination wedding in Hawaii, while visiting friends in both Hawaii and Las Angelos, CA!
JULY
* Beach time at Chincoteague, VA!
* Photographed a family friend with an unforgettable airplane proposal!
AUGUST
* Honored to speak at my former high school teacher/friend, Lieb Photographic workshop about “Client Experience!”
* Road-tripped to Cape Cod/Boston, MA!
SEPTEMBER
* Had the opportunity to attend my friend’s wedding as a guest and dress up in a Sari! What a fun experience!
* Hit a deer in West Virginia on my way home from a Pennslyvania wedding, but I’m SO glad my car made it home safely! Although, the damages cost about $7,000 … Thank goodness for car insurance, right?!
OCTOBER
* Sometimes, we all need a staycation to get work done, right?
* Attended my first “All Sons and Daughters” concert! Amazing!
NOVEMBER
* First time photographing fall mini sessions and it was a success!
* Decorated for Christmas “earlier than usual.” It was exciting decorating my house for the first time!

DECEMBER
* Hosted my Fifth Annual Christmas Mini Sessions!
* Had family over for a pre-Christmas gathering, where we almost peed our pants several times from the game, “Telestrations!”
* CHRISTMAS!!!
* Bought a new camera to prep for the 2017 year!!
* Photographed my friends’ ROMANTIC proposal on New Year’s Eve!
And the random moments of the 2017 year… <3
