Weekend Recap

Weekend Recap

Happy Monday! I’m not sure how “happy” you are going to work early this morning after staying up to watch the crazy overtime game last night! Insane, right?! I wore my Redskins hat to represent and support the underdogs in the Super Bowl game and thought the hat was good luck at first. Welp! You saw how that went down. Great game, though!

So, what’s going on?

Well, things are starting to come together for the Runaway Brides 5k Fun Run! I’m so excited for this year’s event! That’s an understatement… Registration just opened last week and I have had great enthusiasm from brides and anyone I come across! Volunteers are popping out of the woodworks and I’m beyond thankful! Comparing this year to last year, we are ahead of the game! 🙂

Speaking of working out, my sister and I signed up for Body Pump last Friday. My body is still suffering. Good thing it’s not wedding season! I’m having a hard time extending my arms without being in excruciating pain. It’s very uncomfortable, but I’m glad this is the kick in the butt I need to get back into weight lifting. I’m thankful that Golds Gym offers classes to work out various muscle groups. WHEW. Fortunately, the achy muscle pain didn’t set in until Saturday morning because I had an engagement session Friday evening. I guess pain sets in after sleeping because our muscles stop moving. If I had to pick up my 10-pound camera now, it would be a challenge. Yikes!

Friday was my first session of the year with the lovely, Devin and Makalea! It was my first time photographing at the beautiful Great Falls, close to D.C. and we had the best time! Although, it was so cold! Expected for a February day, right? I cannot wait to share more from this sweet session on the blog this week!!!

Devin and Makalea | Sneak peek

While I was in the D.C. area Friday, I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to see one of my brides/friends for dinner. Well, it turns out I am NOT a city driver. Lol! I found myself freaking out wondering if I accidentally hopped on the E-ZPass access road or HOV road … Instead, I found myself on an exit-less access road heading to Dulles Airport when I was trying to get to Tysons Corner. HAHA! I’m not sure what that area is doing with their highway system, but it is SO confusing!! I’ll stick to the rural roads, thank you!

On a personal note, I have been working on organizing my kitchen. So far, I have reorganized my kitchen cabinets and drawers. That was a task because when I first moved in, I just threw pots, mixing bowls, small appliances, utensils randomly in drawers and cabinets so I could focus on the decorating. Even though these things aren’t noticeable when you look at my kitchen, it feels good knowing there is a system! Right now, I’m in the midst of designing/building custom dividers for my kitchen utensils. Next on my list? Build wooden shelves for my pantry! Thankful for a handy mom who can help me with that project! 🙂

What’s also in the works? Redesigning my blog!!! I’m hoping to have this done in the next couple of weeks. For some reason, it’s harder than designing my website … So this is going to take a while. Haha!

Have a great start to your work week!!!
