Weekend Recap

Weekend Recap | Spring Clean

I’m in disbelief we are just days away from March of 2017! I have a feeling this year is going to fly by like the last one. Yikes! It seems like winter pressed fast forward as well. I was really hoping to squeeze in a ski trip, but I guess it’s too late around this area. Because of this crazy weather, I got into the spring cleaning/decorating mode last week! Despite being sick last week, decorating kept me moving and happy! It took an entire afternoon last Friday, but I deep cleaned my closet for the first time since moving in a year ago. 🙂 I threw away two bags and plan to donate another two bags full of clothing/purses/etc. to my local thrift shop! Now I feel like my closet looks empty, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing, my closet was cluttered with STUFF.

I challenge you to do the same this spring time or this coming up weekend! When I went through and decluttered my closet, I had to ask myself two questions:
1) When was the last time I wore this piece?
2) Do I see myself wearing it again soon?
This included bathing suits, scarves, formal wear, coats, everyday clothing, underwear, purses, shoes, exercise clothing … everything! If it has been over a year since I last used the item, then it’s donation worthy (as long as it’s in good condition). If it’s a really nice label item, you could consider consignment so you can make a little money from it. I had to be honest to myself when I went through my closet and realize that my style has changed since I was in my lower 20s. That helped me narrow down the selection as well. Try it out yourself!

Weekend Recap | Spring Clean

This past weekend was full of good company. 🙂 It’s hard growing up and friends move away, but when they come back to visit, it’s the best reunion! My friend, Brandy, FINALLY returned from Africa after serving three years in Lesotho! That’s a longggg time! I’m so proud of her and so happy she’s home. 🙂 We got together Saturday morning for brunch with a bunch of friends to celebrate her return. I don’t know how she was able to be social that morning after flying for over 20 hours! Whew! I’m excited she’s back and ready to take on adventures with her and friends!

Weekend Recap

My best friend, Liz, came to visit for the weekend and we made sure to spend the time to relax, enjoy a bottle of yummy wine and watch Finding Dorie. 🙂 Our friend, Megan, is expecting a little girl in a couple of months, so Saturday afternoon was spent celebrating at her baby shower. Little Rory is going to be SO stylish!!! I’m so excited for their adorable little family! I wish I took more photos this weekend, but it was nice to spend intentional time without being glued to my phone. 🙂

Of course, Sunday was spent relaxing and cleaning after a great morning in church. I’m still trying to recover from this icky sickness, but I’m feeling SO much better than I was a year ago!!! 🙂 I just have to get rid of this congestion so I can get back to the gym and get ready for summertime. Swimsuit season will be here before we know it!!! Ah!

HAPPY MONDAY!!!! XOXO!
