I cannot believe these two are getting married NEXT MONTH! So excited to document their special moments with family and friends. 🙂 We managed to figure out a date to photograph engagement portraits, and I’m glad we were able to work in these in between our busy schedules!!! We had to work around crowds, but they were in positive spirits the entire time! 🙂 Let me tell you, the ice cream shops smelled so tempting as we walked around town. Haha! I’m convinced I need to go back and explore around for fun!
They are originally from Virginia and currently reside in Annapolis for work. As much as they love the city, they are ready to move back to NoVA! So, we spent some time chatting about this because they are in the process of building a house! Turns out they are going through Ryan Homes, which is the builder I used when I built my place! It was fun talking about the process and what details they chose for their new space. 🙂 They will have PLENTY of photos to decorate around their house once they move in after their wedding! More importantly, they are looking forward to seeing their family and friends more often because the distance was a challenge at times. I don’t blame them!!! I’m happy they will be closer to their loved ones, although I know this year is going to be a busy one for them! All exciting changes!!! So happy for them! <3
Michael & Kelsey’s Love Story
How Michael and Kelsey Met
One weekend, Michael and a mutual friend of ours was back in town from college. Michael and I both went to the same high school and grew up in the same hometown, but had never spoken before that weekend. Our mutual friend, Jazmyne, decided she wanted to play matchmaker. She went on and on to me about how good of a match we would be and I finally agreed to meet up with them that night at a friend’s birthday. Upon meeting Michael, I knew instantly that Jazmyne was right in her matchmaking. We spent all night talking and laughing and have been together now for six and a half years. We will both always be grateful to Jazmyne for bringing us together.
How Michael Proposed to Kelsey
For as long as Michael and I have been dating he has always known that I have a slight (possibly major) obsession with Christmas time. Therefore, it is only fitting that he brought me to New York City during Christmas time for the proposal. My family has a long standing tradition of gifting new ornaments every year to place on the tree. I made it clear to Michael that I was not leaving New York without the perfect ornament for that Christmas.
Before starting our adventures in the city, Michael had wanted to give me a gift. Little did I know, Michael had already picked out the perfect ornament showing the New York City skyline and had placed the ring on top. From our hotel room, we had a perfect view of the Empire State building and for a moment, it distracted me from what was actually happening. Michael stood by the window, ready to propose for several minutes before finally nudging me to “get over here.” After realizing the gift was not the ornament but the ring, Michael proposed. We got to enjoy the rest of our fun filled weekend celebrating our engagement, and it will be a Christmas that we will always remember.
Thank you, Michael and Kelsey, for bringing me to Annapolis! I love exploring new areas and the weather treated us so well that day. I pray it will be the same for your wedding next month! Cannot wait to see you both soon! Enjoy some of my favorites from our time together!! Congrats!! Xoxo!
See you next month!!!! 🙂 🙂 🙂
