Last week was my first time meeting Sean and Keri, and I immediately noticed their great sense of humor! I walked away from their session smiling because it was so much fun!! 🙂 I love that Keri wrote to me after our time together saying that she felt as though something monumental happened in her life worth celebrating. Of course, Sean and Keri’s five-year anniversary was worth celebrating, but these photos made their anniversary a special experience. That made my week hearing this because I want my couples to have as much fun as I do behind the camera! 🙂
Their session was one for the 2018 book! They wanted to set up a little picnic during the session, which I thought was adorable! Since they celebrated five years of marriage this year, it was appropriate they brought cupcakes with them. Of course, there had to be a little playful icing war! Haha! They even brought cupcakes for Julien and me to eat that night. 🙂 So sweet and thoughtful of them!!! However, it seemed like the chickens felt like they were missing out on the food action, so they charged at Sean and Keri while they were trying to pack up the cupcakes. It’s a little scary seeing a chicken charge at you, especially while you’re sitting on the ground, but Sean and Keri managed to laugh and smile about the chickens. 🙂 Sorry chickens, but we weren’t willing to share! 😉
Honestly, I tried REALLY hard not to freak out halfway through their session. There was a spot I wanted to take Sean and Keri, but it required some careful stepping through tall grass. I have to hold my breath during this time because I don’t always feel 100% comfortable jumping into the tall grass because of the unknown, but it’s important that my couple feel comfortable and safe!! I put on my rain boots and cautiously walked through the tall yellow flowers. After we finally made it, I turned around to go to a spot to photograph them when I stumbled across at least FOUR yellow spider nests. All of their webs surrounded me, and I freaked out thinking that I might have walked through one of their nests getting to that point. Although, I reassured myself that I would have noticed because the yellow and black spiders were HUGE. Eww, I’m getting the chills just thinking about that experience. Of course, as I’m typing this, Pixie unexpectedly came up and rubbed against my foot making me jump out of my chair. LOL! Anyways, we made it out of there without touching a spider (I think)! WHEW. I’m so grateful for couples who can laugh with me!
Sean and Keri weren’t only fun, but I realized how natural they were in front of the camera! I admire those who have naturally blue eyes with brown hair, and while I was photographing Sean and Keri, I quickly noticed Keri’s eyes. You’ll see how captivating they are in these photos and I didn’t even edit them!!! I also love the way Sean and Keri make each other smile and laugh. 🙂 They are too cute!! I left with a full heart, two cupcakes and adorable photographs that speak so much of who Sean and Keri are together. 🙂 I would call that a success!
Thank you, Sean and Keri, for toughing it through the elements. From raging chickens to a playful cake smash to the unknown creatures in tall grass, you made this session FUN! I appreciated your humor throughout our time together, and I love how well your playfulness was captured in these photos. 🙂 Happy five years of marriage with many more to come!!! Enjoy some of my personal favorites from our time together!!!
