Alex and Rosie’s maternity session had to have been one of the coldest sessions I have photographed to date!!! And I have shot many cold sessions in my past… So that’s saying a lot! My car read the outside temps in the 20s… However, the wind chill on top of the mountain made it incredibly freezing! I sound like an absolute WIMP because when you look through these photos, you would have never known!! I was bundled in snow gear while Rosie was in minimal layers and absolutely rocked it without any complaints!! I was impressed by these two and their positive spirits as we drove/adventured around Skyline Drive! But we made sure to hop in the car as often as possible to keep warm, especially with the pup, Dobby! 🙂
Alex and Rosie are excitingly expecting a sweet baby girl, little Scarlett next year!! The final countdown is ON!!! I know when Scarlett arrives, it will be a huge relief because the pregnancy hasn’t been the most comfortable time for them. I’m so glad Rosie was well enough to run around, and not just that, but run around in the SNOW, ICE, and WIND! Superwoman status already! 😉 It was kind of funny because none of us thought about the fact that it snowed days before their portraits, and even though the snow was gone where we live didn’t mean that it wasn’t up on top of the mountain. So, what else can you do but embrace the atmosphere?! I love this magical location for their portraits!!! So perfect! 🙂
I’m so honored Alex and Rosie reached out to me regarding this beautiful time of their lives because Rosie is also a photographer in the NOVA area!! 🙂 I love photographing industry friends! We didn’t get too much of a chance to hang out because all we could think about was the warm car (lol!), but I had the best time with them and Dobby!! Dobby stole the show at one point — SO cute!!! — I quickly realized that he’s a natural in front of the camera! 🙂 And, of course, Alex and Rosie were pros in front of the camera! I really enjoyed our laughs together … Even if our faces were frozen at the end of the session (lol!)!! I cannot wait to see the news when their little blessing, Scarlett, arrives!
Thank you, Alex and Rosie, for being absolute TROOPERS! It was a beautiful session from the second we started, and I’m so glad we had the opportunity to play in the snow. 😉 Enjoy this preview of our time together!!! CONGRATS!!! XOXO!
