The icky sick season is here, and I’m doing everything in my power to prevent that from happening!! How can you also avert sickness this season? Here are things I’m doing: activities that make me happy, drinking plenty of water, getting a full night of sleep, taking a ton of vitamins (zinc is a good one, apparently), washing my hands regularly, drinking kombucha, exercising and eating lots of nutritional foods. I’ll let you know if these efforts were worth it because I want to conquer this season!! π HA!
During this “slower season” of life, I have been soaking in as much quality time with people!! I am taking on a different perspective this year when it comes to family and friends. It’s so important to keep dear, loved ones as close as possible while they are around. I don’t want to take friendships/relationships for granted, and it’s so important to find that balance to stay connected because life is too short! I’m soaking so much of this time while I can before wedding season kicks into full gear. So thankful I have a job with the flexibility to create these quality moments because it fills my heart!! But, I have to admit that I have guilt-tripped myself for not blogging regularly, Monday-Thursday. I LOVE blogging, and I have so much I want to cover during the winter months!! It will happen, but it might not be as consistent as I hoped. So I’m going to take on a different perspective β instead of guilt-tripping, I’m going to EMBRACE this season! π I’ll talk more about that in my 2018 goals blog post coming up soon!!!
So, let’s talk about this past weekend!!!
This past weekend was sad and exciting at the same time! Alex left for a month to do medical missionary work in Africa. How amazing of an opportunity is that? It was sad saying goodbye to him early Saturday morning, but I am so excited for this opportunity God opened along his path!! Please keep him and his team in your prayers as they travel around and experience/witness things that are out of their control. God equipped them for this time to serve so I can rest assured that whatever obstacles come in their way, they will overcome! <3 Cannot WAIT to see him in 28/27 days!!!! AH!
After a relaxing morning, I met with my friend, Amanda, and her snuggly, adorable babe for a lunch date at the Gentle Harvest. If you haven’t been, they have GREAT, local, fresh, and healthy meal options!!! Of course, though, we had to run next door to devour a Red Truck Bakery pastry. π YUMMMM. One of my favorite spots in Fauquier County!!!
My friend, Kate, and I got together and had a fun, relaxing night-in Saturday night. We are soaking in these slower moments while we can because SO much is changing this year!!! π Thinking about this year as a whole is insaneΒ but so exciting! AH!
Alex left me a beautiful, thoughtful letter on my nightstand to read when I got back from the airport Saturday morning. π I feel so lucky!!! What an incredible, Godly man God brought into my life β definitely, an answered prayer. I’m already missing him so much, but I know this time will fly by so fast!!! π π π Hurry up, February 25th!!!
Wasn’t yesterday the perfect day to relax and take it easy?! I much prefer sunshine, but sometimes, cuddling with a hot cup of hot cocoa, tea, coffee and a good book with do! I didn’t get to read too much yesterday, but besides catching up with college friends, I got to spend quality family time while my brother was home (yay, finally)! Then I started working on a project β News to be shared soon on the blog!!!!!! AH! <3 <3 <3 SO excited!!!! Just you wait!
