Oh my gosh, GUYS!!! This past week/weekend was a whirlwind! I’m adjusting to a new lifestyle with the help of a new furry golden friend!!! I already have SO many cute photos of him and I cannot stop! Everything Ollie does is adorable! HA!! My poor phone storage… 😉 Ollie will have his own blog post soon because well, there’s so much cuteness to share with you all!!
This past weekend was crammed-packed with friend quality time! A few months ago, my brother inspired me with an idea of a “friend tour!” It’s a great way to adventure around!!! Now I want to do this in a different direction of the state — So much fun!!! I decided to take my trip down to Southern Virginia. From Wednesday–Sunday, I spent the long weekend visiting friends in Richmond, Charlottesville, Lynchburg, and Blacksburg. It was the perfect distance in between the locations to really enjoy friend time as well as the sites! I HIGHLY recommend doing this!! The timing worked out perfectly because Ollie’s pick-up date (yesterday) was the day I would drive back to Northern Virginia! The cutest little travel souvenir!! 😉
Virginia Friend Tour
Richmond & Charlottesville
I’ve been meaning to hang out with one of my besties, Brandy, for a while. Mainly since I’m down in Richmond often to visit Alex. 🙂 There was no excuse to not visit and spend time with her this time around!! She took me to a yummy burger place (cannot remember the name of it for the life of me!!) and we ended up at the Circuit! If you’re in the Richmond area and haven’t heard of the Circuit, it’s a SUPER fun arcade/beer dispenser bar! Turned out Brandy had a natural talent for 90’s games! Haha! The next morning, I ran 4-miles around Belle Isle/The Tredegar area which was so relaxing!!! Although, I didn’t stretch for very long afterwards, and I definitely felt the aftermath days later!!! Ouch! I hung out at Lamplighter (so good) until Brandy was able to join me after class. After spending the morning in Richmond, I was off to Charlottesville to enjoy a lunch date with my friend, Holly, at Roots! It was a SUPER popular destination in Cville, but I understand why because it was healthy, fresh and GOOD.
Lynchburg
My friends, Elle and Andrew, graciously opened their home for company! It’s always a guaranteed entertaining time with them. 🙂 I’m glad Elle enjoys the same enthusiasm for kombucha and acai bowls, so we did exactly that! She took me to the “Health Nut” (??) where they had on-tap kombucha and freshly made acai bowls. It was definitely worth photographing because of the crazy coloring of the “dragon bowl!”
Blacksburg
Fortunately, I spontaneously decided to take a quick detour on the nicest day of the trip to see the Natural Bridge. It is incredible witnessing the world’s natural beauty in person!! Hoping for more adventures like this soon! 🙂
Whew! It has been a minute since the last time I visited Blacksburg to spend time with my bestie. It was an overdue trip, for sure!!! I built two nights to spend time with Liz and her bf, but the time flew by WAY too fast! Always happens when you’re having a great time! We were hoping for nicer weather, but I came when it was cold and rainy. At least the local wineries easily entertained us! HAHA! I’ll have to visit Blacksburg with Alex and Ollie in the future and go on hikes, once Ollie’s able to do long distances!! Cannot wait!!!!
Happy Monday!!! Hopefully, Ollie loves lots of sleep so I can get into a good routine. 🙂 So far, so good (currently knocking on wood!)! Ollie’s post is coming soon to the blog! What a sweetheart, and he’s already so smart for a 7-week old pup!!!
