Do you love breakfast? I don’t know about you, but I definitely do!!! And so does Shawn and Elaine! 🙂 On Sunday, they gathered with their closest family and friends in a secret garden at the Rust Manor House in Leesburg, Virginia, to tie the knot. I would say that Shawn and Elaine are not your typical, traditional couple, which I LOVE them for that!!! One of my JMU friends, Lauren, graciously referred my name to them when they got engaged, and I’m forever grateful! They have become friends of mine through this process, and I absolutely adore them together!!! Elaine is just a ray of sunshine and Shawn is so easy-going. Together, they make a power couple. I loved during the speeches, “selflessness” was emphasized as many described these two. Really, though, that’s why I call them a power couple because relationships are work and it involves humble, selfless acts of kindness. Not only do these two do that for their relationship, but for others. They are so loved and adored by many, so I loved documenting their cheerleaders
Sunday, at Noon, Shawn and Elaine exchanged vows and said “I do” to forever. <3 It was a beautiful, elegant garden wedding! These two love nature, and so it was appropriate that when they went venue shopping, they started and stopped at their first destination, The Rust Manor House! As soon as they saw the tree, everything came to life. Tulle draped over the tree limbs and flowed as the wind gusted throughout the ceremony. It was a cold afternoon, but definitely worth it for these two. 🙂 Fortunately, the tented reception had heat. Plus, with the signature drinks, I’m sure everyone was able to thaw out quickly once the reception started. 😉
For their reception decor, they kept a classic, neutral pallet, while incorporating their garden theme with the use of many vases and flowers! Because it was an early Sunday wedding, they fed their guests brunch with eggs, sausage, bacon, veggie quiche, waffles and an assortment of pastries. Let’s not forget about the donut bar as their tasty dessert!!! Like I said above, Shawn and Elaine aren’t the “typical couple.” They were really in tune with who they are and what they wanted to remember from their day. Instead of a wedding cake, they had donuts, which actually seems like a very popular wedding treat this year!! They did away with the traditional wedding events and wanted to spend the afternoon with every one of their guests. It was a nice casual, relaxed hang out from the moment they were announced into the reception. 🙂 Their wedding party still said a few words to everyone, but otherwise, it was a lovely, chill afternoon. I loved going around documenting candids of everyone mingling, while documenting group photos of everyone together, considering it was a very special event. It was a perfect Sunday morning/afternoon wedding, and I could not have been more honored to be a part of this special day!!!
Thank you, Shawn and Elaine, for giving me the greatest honor of photographing your wedding day!!! Not only was the day unforgettable, but you guys really made the day special!! I’m so grateful for Lauren connecting us! <3 Congrats and enjoy looking through my favorites from Sunday!!
Congratulations!!!
