Chris, Natalie and I go back years ago when they once lived in Richmond, Virginia. We connected then because they were on the search for a wedding photographer. 🙂 Little did we know that our initial email exchange back in 2016 would turn into a friendship that continued past their wedding day! We have enjoyed many adventures together including wine/dinner dates, hiking adventures, visiting their home in Hawaii and so much more! I look forward to many more in the future!!!
Fast forward to 2018, Natalie and I have kept in touch through an exchange of emails over the years since they moved to Hawaii. 🙂 Throughout the time, we have connected through personal blog posts as well as possible travel plans! I cherish our friendship so much and wish we weren’t on the opposite coasts, but who knows where our futures will take us!! Hopefully, the military will send them out this way again. 😉 Chris and Natalie were in Richmond recently, and we had made plans to catch up before they left! We were supposed to do family portraits with their little Henry pup last summer, but Natalie had orders to leave the week before I visited Hawaii. It was funny visiting Chris right after Natalie went for training because he was like a lost puppy. It was sad and adorable because it was obvious how much he missed her and was concerned! But I’m glad this time flew by now that they are back together!!!
This time we finally were all able to get together, we knew we had to make something happen. 🙂 After lunch in downtown Richmond with Ollie and Henry last week, we walked down to the river to take some quick family portraits. I was impressed that within EIGHT minutes, we had 47 deliverable pictures! Talk about hustle!!! And that was with taking a couple of quick check-ups on Ollie behind me! It was his first session with me, and hopefully not the last. 🙂 Even though this place we stumbled across wasn’t our original destination for portraits, it was so fitting because of the mix of nature/industrial! It’s “So Richmond!” Chris and Natalie are pros by now, so it was a piece of cake taking their portraits with smiley Henry!!! 🙂 They had to leave Henry in VA for a couple months, so these portraits will especially be cherished in the meantime while they are separated from him. I’m so glad we made these portraits happen while they were on the east coast for a short while!! I cannot wait to see them again, hopefully soon in Hawaii!!
I’m so grateful for your friendship, Natalie and Chris!!! I look forward to many more hiking, wine, dinner, hang out dates together! And hopefully, a future trip out to Hawaii!!! <3 Love you both! Enjoy this preview from our time together!!! XOXO!
