To this day, Michael, Lauren and I joke around about their engagement session in March. It was absolutely freezing, and it took Lauren TWO hours to warm up after the session ended. No joke! She told me that even after the drive home, she had to take a hot shower, curl up with blankets and drink many cups of hot cocoa before she regulated her body temperature. That really takes “chilled to the bone” literal! And what a contrast looking back at their engagement session and last Saturday… It was a hot one! So a question to consider is would you rather be cold or hot? Their answer? Cold! Mine? It’s a tough one because I think of times I’ve been super cold and super hot, and I couldn’t figure out a solution to make either option comfortable. HA! I will say that hot weather is tricky because hair and makeup can be tricky to manage. I know personally by the end of a hot wedding day, my makeup is completely worn off and my hair is the size of a lion’s mane! 😉 I’m glad I’m not the one being photographed!!!! Despite the super hot and humid weather conditions last Saturday, Lauren and the girls looked beautiful! Although Lauren had to improvise at one point with her hair, she still looked fresh and fabulous!!! We also had to play around with the timeline the day of the wedding to make it as comfortable as possible, and we made everything happen! 🙂
Michael and Lauren are absolutely darling together. <3 And out of all places, they met at an airport! Talk about fate! Lauren said that his height immediately caught her attention. Haha! For good reasons (case and point to the final photo of this blog post with me completely sandwiched!). 😉 Speaking of this blog post, it was so much fun documenting Michael and Lauren last Saturday and seeing them in their element with their family and friends from the prepping portion of the day send-off. Together, they are hilarious and come from great support groups!!! And I love that they had a lot of college friends there who knew how to bring the party energy into the reception. It was a very entertaining evening as you’ll see below!
The Wedding Day
The sun was out last Saturday afternoon, which was kind of a miracle after stalking the forecast for DAYS with a 90% chance of rain. Although, hot, but we managed!!!
I loved seeing Lauren help her bridesmaids get ready! She’s a great friend. <3
Goodness!!! Don’t you LOVE Lauren’s one of a kind dress? She said she loved a top of one dress she tried on and a bottom of another. So why not piece them together? No big deal. 😉 And she looked like a model! Absolutely stunning!!! It’s a mix of a Watters skirt, Watters latte corset, Allure bridal sash, and Marionet Bridal Headpiece!
Look at that incredible detailing on the dress!!!
I enjoyed photographing this beautifully designed stationery set. Gold accents with watercolor floral designs was a great mix of romance and elegance!
Awe!!! A little emotional time with her father after he walked in to see her dressed and ready for the ceremony. <3
Remember what I said above? Total model status!!!! WOW.
Her darling flower girl walked in to see Lauren, and I love these images of them admiring each other’s dresses. 🙂 So cute!!! Between the flowers in the flower girl’s hair and Lauren’s bouquet, as well as the petal skirts, they work so well together!!!
While the girls were upstairs getting ready for the ceremony, the guys were also … kind of … getting ready. But mostly goofing off! HA! Guys have it so easy the morning of a wedding!!!
Oh, yes. This is only a little glimpse of the candids that happened that day!
They even got Michael’s mom cracking up! I mean, I could barely hold myself together because they were a very entertaining bunch!
The flower girl walked half way down the aisle before she realized she forgot to throw some of the petals. Naturally, it’s only appropriate to make sure every last petal was out of the basket at the altar. HAHA! So cute!!
Michael’s grandmother was absolutely adorable!!! She had an important role by helping wrap Michael and Lauren’s hands together as a part of an Irish tradition. She was smitten!!!
Michael and Lauren’s mothers came up to the altar to say a little prayer as well as words of wisdom to them. So special!!!
To carry on the fun Jewish tradition on Michael’s side of the family, Michael and his best man enthusiastically jumped on the glass at the end of the ceremony!
Then Michael and Lauren were pronounced as husband and wife!!! 🙂 🙂 🙂 YAY!
Those smiles!!!! <3 So happy!!!
Gorgeous, girls!!! <3
Oh my gosh, the guys were total jokesters. They even managed to be jokesters through the hobbit door!
This photo of Lauren and the flower girl is so precious!!! 🙂
The next boy band? After saying they looked like some sort of boy band, they all started walking towards me, with a little beat in their steps, while chanting a song together. HA!
Lauren, you’re so pretty!!!
One of my favorites!!!
The party officially kicked off during cocktail hour where guests relaxed, enjoyed some scrumptious finger foods and Potomac Point Wines!
Wonderful, heart-felt speeches with great moments of humor from Lauren’s dad, Gerald, and Tekiyah. 🙂 Even the dances were sweet and emotional!
Then the real part of the party kicked off when the dance floor opened up!!
OHIO State! Looking great, gals!
The sweetest grandmother! And last Saturday was her Birthday!!! 🙂 Happy Birthday!
Caption this shot!!! HAHA!
YAYYYY!!!!!
Congratulations!!!!
Thank you, Michael and Lauren, for trusting me with documenting your engagement and wedding day!!! I had the best time — Even through the extremes of cold and hot temps! 😉 HAHA! You both looked beautiful, happy, and joyful! I couldn’t be happier for you!!! <3 CONGRATS, friends!!!
