Weekend Recap

Weekend Recap

July … Really? Summer is going by this fast? Although, the heat lately has been SCORCHING!!!! This is when a pool in the backyard would be nice. 🙂 I remember a couple years ago photographing one July wedding and it was the hottest event I had ever and have ever photographed! At one point, I thought to myself, “That pond right there looks very tempting!” 😉 I cannot believe AJ and Marina were willing to run around and take photos outside, but I was grateful for their enthusiasm!!! This week is going to be a BUSY one, and this heat looks like it’s planning to linger around for a while. I hope you all stay hydrated and cool for the Fourth of July festivities!! I know I’m going to try. I enjoy Fourth of July because my family hauls out Civil War cannons and blows them up! It’s a fun tradition that never gets old. I wonder how Ollie will handle it? We will find out!!! Dog trainers suggest getting pups exposed to different elements/environments/people while they are young so it’s the “norm.” Why not toss in a cannon boom into the mix? HAHA!

Since my return from my Florida road trip mid last week, I’ve been B-U-S-Y. It’s only going to be even busier because I’m heading down to Florida to visit Alex July 12th with his family and my grandparents to see the Blue Angels Show!! Until then, I’m going to be working long days to ensure my business is able to run while I’m away. 🙂 Of course, though, I’ll still have access to work and plan to take my editing/emails to Florida! But these 12-hour work days should keep me on track! But you have to work hard to play hard, right?

Weekend Festivities

This past weekend was a busy one!! Especially since it started with Rob and Anna’s Friday wedding. 🙂 It was nice because I still had a weekend to get settled back into my routine! One thing I noticed when I got back home from Florida was a little gift left on my front door. 🙂 Isn’t it precious?! What a centerpiece for my wreath! Ha!

Weekend Recap

The evening before Robert and Anna’s wedding, I hiked up to Shenandoah National Park to photograph this beautiful couple!!! I cannot wait to share more from our time together with another glorious sunset!!

Weekend Recap

I took a break Saturday evening after working all day on my computer to enjoy dinner/brewery with this crew! Also, to our surprise, Tanner and Jamie had just gotten engaged earlier that day! So many fun and exciting conversations!! EXCEPT, at one point there was a bat that swooped down and almost hit me!!! CRAZY! I felt the brush of the wing hit the side of my face … Can you imagine? Reminded me of the Fun Run episode from the Office! Run to cure rabies … HAHA!

Weekend Recap

My sweet bride shared this behind the scenes photo with me and I had to share it with you all! Love it! But to my surprise, after wearing my Apple Watch religiously for a month, I FINALLY hit my moving goal. It was hard and really involved me moving around literally all day. But I really love the tracking features, which is why I decided to wear it daily! I use it to track exercise as well as my heart rate. Such a nerdy thing, but it’s awesome!!

Weekend Recap

Oh, how can I even get started with this photo below?! First off … SERIOUSLY? I date this guy? A real-life McDreamy? Haha! I had to do a shout out on my blog today because today is his first day as Dr. Schloe taking care of his own patients!!! All of the hard work of med school has paid off to be where he is today. I’m so proud of him and his accomplishments, and this is only the beginning!!! This year is going to be super challenging as he will take on different rotations through the residency program, but I know that God will not present a challenge he is not capable of tackling. And that’s the same in our relationship! We might be 1,000 miles apart and have crazy, inconsistent schedules, which could seem daunting to many, but there is nothing to fear with God in the center of our relationship! 🙂 I’m looking forward to seeing Alex SOON!!! Ah!!
