Coffee Talk Mondays

Coffee Talk Mondays

TODAY IS THE DAY. After months of hard work, my new blog and website are LIVE!!!! Of course, though, I cannot take the credit for the hard work! Sam from Refresh Design did an INCREDIBLE job creating a wonderful experience for not just myself but YOU. I’m sooooo excited about this new online home for Stephanie Messick Photography!!! <3

It has been one heck of a year getting to this point. Back in January, I experienced a hacker on my blog — Why a wedding photographer? I’ll never understand. Countless hours spent with tech support… One thing about being a small business is that I have to take care of everything by myself which sometimes isn’t fun. I dealt with tedious phone calls while they tried pitching sales to me. It was exhausting and frustrating. By June, I was ready to make BIG changes! I reached out to Refresh Design, unknowing that my friend, Sam, was behind the business! I was looking for a small and local business to support, and when I ran across Sam’s website designs, I had to reach out and see what can be done. I couldn’t believe it when I read his response saying, “Hey, Stephanie!!! It’s SAM!” Not only did I have the chance to support a small and local business, but a friend! Sam was AMAZING. He walked me through every step of the way and made it an enjoyable and FUN experience!! We had some technical difficulties dealing with domain stuff (still working out little kinks), but Sam was so generous to handle the phone conversations to make it work! I’m so grateful for him and all of the hard work and hours he poured into my website!!! I could not be a more thrilled customer!

Be sure to tour around and experience the new Stephanie Messick Photography website!!!! 🙂 🙂 🙂

TAKING CONTROL OF MY SCHEDULE + VIEWS WHILE I WORK
It has taken me a while to find a good routine, but I found it!!! Because weddings are a huge part of my business, it’s important that I build in PLENTY of editing time in my schedule! With that, Tuesdays are now my designated editing days so I can ensure blog posts will be scheduled for Wedding Wednesdays, if possible! 🙂 Also, I’m loving this view in my craft room!!! That photo floods back so many incredible memories from that New Years Eve night. 🙂 Best night of my life!!! Also, I cherish these little notes he left behind. <3

Is this really my job?!?! Ponies and pretty couples!!!
**Thanks, Laura Kuah for these behind the scenes photos!!**

SUNDAYS
I really enjoy starting my mornings with a hot cup of either chai tea or coffee and reading my daily devotional book. Also! Ollie, my family and I were able to enjoy an afternoon at Barboursville Vineyard after I photographed a surprise proposal on the property! 🙂

BEAUTIFUL VIEWS + CARS
I love that my “job” takes me all over the state — Especially with pretty views!! I’ve been driving a lot, and I’m so happy to do so in my CRV! LOVE it! And it turned out that my couple last week drove the same car in the same color as me! 🙂 #meanttobe

FRIENDS WHO STICK IT OUT
My friend, Kate, and I are taking on the month-long Keto challenge! I considered my eating habits as lazy keto … But now that I’m really trying to follow the book, I’m realizing how challenging it is!! It’s a LOT of work and planning! But well worth the fast progress!

ESPRESSO MOMENTS
the bitter memories from this past week

TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES
With the big change of a new website came the downfalls of technology. My emails went down for a little bit and my client gallery site didn’t work for a few days — A little stressful, but my FABULOUS website designer worked over the weekend to make everything function this morning!! He’s the best!!!

IT’S A GOOD THING THEY ARE CUTE! 😉
This really isn’t necessarily an “espresso moment,” but I had to end the post with a cutesy one. 😉 I took Ollie to a dog park last week and by the end of the time, he was completely covered in dirt and mud (my poor new car!)! But, most importantly, he was VERY happy and tired! Speaking of tired … Pixie sure knows where to find her spots. HA!

Happy Monday!!!!
