I have been photographing this lovely family for YEARS. They have to be one of the most stylish looking bunch. I appreciate their attention to detail, and it’s funny whenever I compliment that, Samantha always gives credit to her husband, Michael, for putting together the look. Those boys in suspenders melted my heart!!! SO STINKIN’ CUTE. Even their shoelaces matched their outfits! I know you all will also appreciate these little details. 🙂
When we were figuring out a location for this shoot, we wanted to keep it somewhat local, and knowing that we photographed at Stone Tower Winery last year, I thought Oatlands Historic House in Leesburg, VA would be the perfect backdrop for these fall portraits! 🙂 Little did we know that we would capture a little glimpse of summer AND fall in one session!!! We had pretty flowers in the gardens and the most beautiful fall colors in the trees lining the driveway. The Oatlands Historic House was the perfect backdrop because we had a great mixture of different environments, including a distant mountain view! Which you know I love a good view!! 🙂 It was at the venue where Parker was completely in his element. Maybe one day he will become a botanist, and these photos will be appreciated then knowing that he had a passion for the Earth early on. HA! Although, he LOVES animals, especially his bunny and a mouse with one recognizable red outfit. 😉 I’m so glad we made this session happen this fall once again, especially with the celebration of not just one, but two Birthdays that week!!! Perfect time to celebrate with annual family portraits!
Not only do I enjoy seeing the Leonard family grow over the years, but I love documenting the kid’s developing personalities!!! And, boy, they have some personalities!! Mason has the sweetest, most kind, and gentle heart. I love seeing him love his parents and Parker so much!!! I can tell that he’s going to be one girls will run after in the future!! HAHA! Parker, the littlest one, is Mr. Independent as you’ll notice in the photos below! He’s quite hilarious with his outdoorsy sense of adventure. He loves getting down and dirty, even in his dressy clothes. Whoops! But it adds character to the shoot, right? #reallife. I made sure to include plenty of those in between shots because it’s in those moments personalities shine the best. 🙂
