When I arrive wherever the girls are getting ready, it’s fun walking in and witnessing the enthusiasm around the room! The months of prepping finally led to this. The beautiful bride FINALLY gets to step into her dress and share the special moment of being a BRIDE with her closest family and friends! While there might be squeals and tears, it might be a different story where her groom and men are hanging out. While the girls get up early to have hair and makeup done, the men have the opportunity to go fishing, play video games, watch sports, go golfing, etc. Sounds pretty nice! 😉 HA! I eventually catch up with the men to photograph their squeals and tears after the groom gets dressed… JK! But it is fun documenting the candids before the bride and groom have the opportunity to see each other. Some opt to do a “first touch” and share a sweet moment/prayer together before the ceremony or some would rather keep the anticipation for when the doors open! I feel very honored that my couples want me there a part of their intimate moments with family and friends leading up to the big reveal! By documenting this time of the day, they will forever remember the excitement, nervousness, suspense, and everything in between! Especially when the parents get to share that time before the ceremony with their daughter/son is so special and some of my favorite candids to document!!! 🙂 See some of my many favorites candids from the prepping part of the day below!
I love those “surreal” moments after the bride looks in the mirror! <3 So sweet!!! Also, any cute sister/brother interaction is worth photographing, especially while straightening up his tie. 🙂
I love that smile!!! Matt surprised Christina with a pair of Hunter rainboots after the threat of rain on their wedding day. 🙂 So thoughtful!!!
I ran across the father of the bride around the corner writing his welcome speech and it’s in the little moments like this worth documenting too!
A sweet mother and son moment. <3

I love this right photo below even though it’s not the best location or lighting scenario. Michele and her step-son shared a little bonding moment walking down the hallway right before the ceremony. 🙂
John surprised Shannon with her FAVORITE Georgetown Cupcakes all the way down in Lexington on the morning of their wedding!!! SO thoughtful and sweet (literally)!
Frankie painted the bottom of her heels gold for a fun little detail! She was excited about it! HA!
It’s cute to see the bride involved by helping her family and friends prep for the big day!
Or that time the chair slipped from underneath Lindsey, but she made the situation such a joy to capture!! HAHA!
