I love how business connects and reconnects me with new/old friends. <3 I photographed Emily and George’s maternity session years ago and it’s hard to believe seeing their little ones running around now!! And what a darling family! This session happened rather quickly since I planned to visit Richmond this past week. Since they moved south from the NOVA craziness (and OMGOSH, I want their gorgeous new home!! 😉 ), they wanted to have family portraits in their new hometown with spring blossoms! Helloooo, Richmond!!!! One of my favorite cities I hope Alex and I will relocate after the Air Force career is done!!! We weren’t sure what flowers were going to be blooming or if we were even going to find flowers, but after doing some scouting around Maymont Park, it was clear that spring was in the air!!! Of course though, with spring come spring showers.

Because we didn’t have a lot of wiggle room to play with postponing our time together, we had to go for it and play in the rain! And, boy, did it RAIN. I’m appreciative of their positive attitude and enthusiasm while we got soaked! HAHA! #worthit! There were several blooming trees that fulfilled what we were hoping for out of these portraits. 🙂 The only thing was with the soaked grounds, we had to keep an eye on the kids as they were tempted to dive right into the mud, which would have made for fun photos, but not a fun cleanup. 😉 Little Georgie was the SWEETEST thing as he showed off his gentle bashfulness, while Declan (the youngest) showed off his adventurous, independent self in front of the camera! It was fun getting to know the kids for a short bit and documenting them at this stage of their life! I know that this quick session, even though it was short and WET, will forever be cherished as they plant their roots in their new city!!!!

Thank you, Wade family, for a great time playing in the rain!!! I am SOOOO happy seeing you all so happy at your new home! Your path led you to where you are today and it could not have worked out more perfectly!! I cannot wait to watch you thrive in Richmond and enjoy the upcoming warm weather exploring the amazing city!
