I’ve known Emily for YEARS. And I’m afraid to count how many because then it reminds me of my age. 😉 Her older sister, Lindsay, and I have been great friends since early high school, and because of that friendship, I was able to meet this sweet young lady!!! As soon as Emily and I were able to get on the phone to chat all about the engagement and wedding plans, I could’ve easily talked with her for hours! Gosh, just hearing her background story about how James came into her life reminded me so much of my own story. Emily and I instantly CLICKED, and I fell in love with their love story. It’s couples like James and Emily what gets me excited for their special day because I know that they were meant to be. <3 It’s funny because the way these two display love for one another is so complimentary to each other! James has a big heart that is gentle, respectful, and loves Emily so well while Emily could scream at the top of her lungs the love she has for James! It’s adorable!!! I love her outgoing, fun personality. 🙂 Cannot wait to reunite with the family and celebrate/document the fun candids from their wedding day soon! Counting down the days (23 to be exact!)!!! YAY!

James and I met as freshmen at Liberty High School back in 2008. We became friends throughout the years, and I had a major crush on him! He was hilarious, cute, and sweet, how could I not have a crush on him?? It was so obvious. We never dated though but were friends, and graduated in 2012. James ended up in Newport News at the Apprentice School, and I had ended up at Christopher Newport University. Both of us ended up two and a half hours from our hometown. Our friend Kenny (whom I’ve known since second grade, and James’ best friend) messaged me in 2017, about meeting up for dinner with him and James. I hadn’t spoken to James since high school (5 years!!). We met for dinner and it seriously felt like something ‘clicked’. We could be ourselves around each other which we hadn’t felt around anyone in a long time. We started dating soon after that initial reconnection.

A year later on October 19, 2018, James walked me out onto the football field of Liberty High School where we first met at 10 years prior, and got down on one knee at the 50 yard line and asked me to be his wife. I would always joke in high school about becoming Mrs. Emily Potts and on April 27, 2019, I’ll actually be Mrs. Emily Potts. We are counting down the days until we’re husband and wife!
Thank you, Emily and James, for making our time together SO much fun!!! Gosh, I feel like I’ve known you two FOREVER (which I guess is almost the case)! Emily, I’ve watched you grow into the beautiful young lady you are today and I’m SO proud of you!!!
