Coffee Talk Mondays

I hope everyone had a wonderful and safe Labor Day weekend!!! Is it really September?!!?! No way. It’s a short work week for me as I only have today and tomorrow to work before I head to VA for my best friend’s WEDDING! Eeeeppp!!! Cannot wait! This past week was busy mostly because I spent a lot of time catching up with 20 client packages (20!!!!! WHEW.) and still unpacking/decorating the upstairs portion of our Florida house. It’s so hard for me to not want to run out and buy a dresser for the guest room because ultimately, we don’t know where the Air Force will take us next and we really shouldn’t accumulate too much … Or more than what we already have! I’ve been unpacking things for two months now and I’m starting to see things really come together so we can have visitors!!! 🙂 Cannot wait!! I just have a purple bathroom to paint and decorate. Woooo!!!! I’ll have to share a more detailed blog post sharing some DIY projects I’ve taken on around the house. 🙂 But for now, let’s catch up with this past week below!!

MOCHA MOMENTS
THE SWEETER MEMORIES FROM THIS PAST MONTH

1
PACKAGINGGGGG!

My main goal last week was to catch up with client packaging. I had 20 packages (YIKES!) to assemble and send out … Getting married and moving is no joke! Fortunately, this year I decided to send an online gallery so my clients could download their photos and not wait for their USB drive before seeing all of their photos. 🙂 That way, they were able to enjoy the photos right after their wedding/portrait session! Thank goodness I did that because I had a system in my VA house, but with things not settled in place, it took much longer to send packages out the door. I’m excited that this is checked off my list! 🙂

LABOR DAY WEEKEND FESTIVITIES

I loved spending this Holiday weekend with friends, reading, sunshine, and decorating. I’ve been reading Present over Perfect and it’s speaking directly to my soul!!!! For anyone who runs their life off to-do lists, this is for YOU! *Guilty*

GETTING THE HOUSE VISITOR READY!!!

We have our first visitors (HEY, Andrew and Kate!!) coming to stay with us NEXT WEEK! This meant that it’s time to get the house ready. 🙂 I’m not sure if this is the case for everyone, but I have noticed when I unpack, things that don’t work for the room I am working on will be relocated to another room. All of a sudden that other room has a pile of clutter. Basically, the entire upstairs was a mess so I’m glad I have a deadline to get everything squared away. 🙂

Alex and I started with this guest bedroom! It was purple and we decided that it didn’t fit our vibe. 😉 We painted it blue and I decided to carry the color to the other guest bedroom and paint an accent wall. Love it!!

One thing that always changes the aesthetic of the room is tapestry!!! Our Cape Cod home has three dormers and they were decorated with dark fabric. I repurposed curtains I had from my previous home and it really brightened the cozy areas!

This room really accumulated STUFF. I haven’t been able to work in the office because of the clutter. So I was excited to tackle this room last night and spruce it up. 🙂 Now it’s a functioning office!!! FINALLY.

I’M NOT MOVING

I don’t care what the Air Force says … I’m not moving in two years!!!! … Unless it’s Hawaii or Germany. 😉 HAHA! Alex and I are soaking up every opportunity to enjoy living at the beach, especially on his days off! Seriously… This place is Heaven.

5
HURRICANE SEASON

While Hurricane Dorian approached Florida, a lot of hilarious memes and captions were posted in the local FB group, including these! HAHA! I’m praying for the east coast!!!

THE BITTER MEMORIES FROM THIS PAST WEEK

WE MISS ALEX

We miss family time in the evening!!! The night shift isn’t easy, but Ollie and I are grateful for the little bit of time we get to see Alex during the afternoon. <3 Until he has to leave for work … Then Ollie perfects his puppy face. 🙁 So sad!!

DMV

Do I need to say more? I think Ollie is over it too…

HAPPY MONDAY TUESDAY!!!!! <3
