Stan & Abigail | Warrenton, Virginia Fall Wedding Photographer

As I was photographing Stan and Abigail, I was thinking about how long I’ve known Stan — since I was a kid!!! Crazy. I couldn’t be happier seeing him with the woman he had prayed for his entire life. His family reminded him that God had prepared him to find Abigail. She was indeed a blessing in his life. <3 I was happy to meet her during their fall Virginia orchard engagement session last year, and I could hardly wait to photograph them again this past weekend on THEIR WEDDING DAY. 🙂 🙂 🙂

Without a doubt, these two love the fall season. Now that I live in Florida, I can say that every Virginian should not take the fall season for granted … Even the “BASIC” pumpkin spice everything. 😉 I’m forcing fall to happen down here, but it was such a breath of fresh air to photograph Stan and Abigail’s fall-inspired wedding last weekend! Abigail used beautiful warm tones as the main color scheme for the wedding, and with the help of her MOH who owns Snake Oak Farm, they pulled it off with class!! Abigail’s bouquet had a beautiful balance of colors you’ll have to check out below! The theme filled my heart up while I visited Virginia to photograph them, but what filled my heart even more was hearing family and friends talk about Stan and Abigail together. <3 They are so adored and loved. During the ceremony, they were reminded that everyone who was there at the wedding is their support team and cheerleaders. SO TRUE. Their wedding day is just the start of a wonderful adventure together, but at least they know they don’t have to do it alone. 🙂 I couldn’t be happier they had found each other!!!

STAN & ABIGAIL’S WEDDING DAY

Prepping for Forever.

I met Abigail at their adorable, quaint home just blocks away from Stan’s family. I had never explored that part of Remington before, but I quickly learned that anyone who exits their home was a predator because mosquitoes were on the prowl! My legs are still demolished, but it was WORTH it photographing all of their pretty details. 😉 HA! “Anything for the shot” … Right?

As you can see below, Abigail loves EVERYTHING Tiffany. <3 It just made photographing her jewelry super fun!! Especially when it came time for Abigail to open her gift from Stan … So, get this. As soon as Stan opened his present from Abigail, he started laughing at his new handgun. It turned out that he also gifted Abigail a handgun too!! But Stan tricked her by putting it inside of a Tiffany’s blue box. 😉 He made sure to purchase a baby blue colored gun for her to tie in love for that Tiffany color. So thoughtful and clever, Stan! Ha!

After Abigail’s aunt got her all dolled up for the wedding, she headed downstairs to meet Stan for a quick prayer without seeing each other. 🙂 What was special about this time was that they were just MINUTES away from seeing each other at the ceremony!!! We loaded up the cars and rushed off to the chapel to get them hitched! 🙂

The Ceremony.

Everyone gathered inside of the church in downtown Remington to watch Stan marry his best friend. 🙂 I loved witnessing the guys gather for prayer to pray over Stan and Abigail’s marriage. As soon as the doors opened for Abigail to reveal herself, she smiled from ear to ear as she made her way down the aisle towards her soon-to-be-hubby! I loved the laughs and conversations they shared at the altar — They were excited to make everything official! 🙂 As soon as they were announced husband and wife, they made their way outside where everyone waved ribbon wands over them and cheered for the newlyweds!

Their Best Friends.

Stan, Abigail, and their best friends gathered to have fun and have photos taken. 🙂 And we had fun … Especially the guys (typical, right?!)! Their little flower girl even had fun by twirling around for photos. So precious!!! I loved that Abigail had her bridal party in different colors/styles of dresses, which balanced out so nicely for their day. Instead of the traditional bouquet, the girls held floral hoops which was my first time photographing with these pretty details!! On the other side, the men wore a pretty blue colored suit paired with a nice checkered tie. It looked sharp!!! But I really loved that Stan stood out by wearing a floral bow tie. Great choice! Don’t you agree?!

Stan and Abigail’s Cherishable Moments.

After Stan and Abigail unburied a bottle of bourbon, they met in front of the church to celebrate quietly together. A moment to just be still. I believe that in itself is a special time of the day. 🙂 They walked hand-in-hand away from the church and through the downtown area, which is a very sentimental place to their relationship. After all, Remington is the reason why they met, thanks to Stan’s family restaurant — Shout out to the Corner Deli!!! 🙂 We continued taking photos together when we arrived at the reception where we experienced pretty pink colors in the sky! Who would’ve guessed that was going to happen on an overcast day!! I loved ending this portion of the day with that treat. <3

The Details.

I’m very familiar with their reception venue — I’ve been to the Fauquier Fairgrounds for fairs and even my high school prom. HAHA! But the way they pulled this off made my jaw drop. Apparently, Abigail and her very talented friend/MOH/florist, Erika, dreamt of big plans to make it beautiful and one of a kind! Surely they did it!!! 🙂 🙂 🙂 They created a beautiful centerpiece to the room by decorating the sweetheart table with drapery, flowers, rustic details, and lighting (thanks to DJ Craig Wood!!!)! I made sure to include it in a lot of their photos because it was so beautifully done!! 🙂

Stan and Abigail provided fun treats for their guests including a popcorn bar (hello!!!), a yummy cake from Culpeper’s famous Knakal’s Bakery, and unique signature drinks — like a Watermelon margarita! Doesn’t that sound so refreshing?!

I appreciated Abigail’s attention to detail because she did a lot of DIY, all thanks to her Cricket machine! To help with wedding cost, I used a very similar tool to do some DIY projects for Alex and my wedding — A lot of work, but so worth it!!! 🙂 Abigail did a great job with everything and now they have photos to remember forever the hard work everyone did to make it happen. 🙂

The Party.

After family and friends gathered in the reception hall, Mr. and Mrs. Heaney were welcomed in to have their first dance together as husband and wife. They twirled, spun around, and dipped … Cue the cheers! But after enjoying a very scrumptious dinner, they had their best friends say a few words before having special dances. They each shared personal jokes/stories about their relationship with Stan and Abigail. From the Corner Deli to trying to skate, these two were meant to be. 🙂

After smashing cake in each other’s faces, everyone gathered on the dance floor to kick off the PARTY! DJ Craig Wood knocked it out of the park with his jams (as always)! Then when it was time for the garter removal, Abigail had something up her sleeve … or I guess her dress! Haha! Stan was surprised when he pulled out a Smirnoff Ice drink — As you will see below, he got ICED. Andddd it didn’t stop there that night. Just before the night ended, the groomsmen gathered on the dance floor to find the bridesmaid hiding Smirnoff Ice behind their backs for all of them to get down on one knee and chug. Haha! It was a way to end the night!! But I loved it when everyone gathered around the bride and groom and swayed back and forth while yelling the lyrics to the song. I’m sure it will be something they will never forget. <3 Being surrounded by the people they loved the most!

THANK YOU, Stan and Abigail, for having me photograph your wedding day celebrations and your fall engagement session last year. 🙂 I look forward to visiting you two in good ole Remington!!! CONGRATS two you both and I hope you’re having the BEST honeymoon in Antigua!!!! You deserve the R+R! <3
