Coffee Talk Mondays

Welp! I haven’t blogged a “Coffee Talk Monday” since Alex and my return from Thailand, so it’s about “Thai-me!” Okay, I’ll stop. 😉 HAHA! It has been a crazier fall season than anticipated. It feels like I took on eight weddings in one month, but only because traveling caught up to me. In reality, I definitely did not take on eight weddings in one month! Haha! It hit me on Tuesday that I had been living out of my suitcase for about a month and a half! How? Between two Virginia trips and two weeks in Thailand, it now makes sense why I am in this “catch up” mode with edits. After driving back to Florida on Monday and configuring a new routine, it was exactly what I needed to get back into the swing of things!! I managed to get some business things done, take the time to read, work out, and have time with Alex in the evening. Over the weekend, Alex and I fully intended to have a lazy Saturday and Sunday and it somehow turned into countless hours of cleaning up our yard, raking, pruning, mulching, and even installing a new bed with shrubs to prevent erosion! The Schloes don’t mess around. 😉 Haha! On a side note, as I type this blog post from my office, I peeked into the guest bedroom where I see boxes of Christmas decor screaming my name to open them soon!!! 🙂 🙂 🙂 AHHH!!! So excited! I think I’ll be decorating the weekend before Thanksgiving for anyone else who wants to join me!! 😉 I cannot believe the Holiday season is just around the corner. I’m looking forward to quality time with family and friends. <3 Until then, let’s check out what happened the past few weeks!

MOCHA MOMENTS
THE SWEETER MEMORIES FROM THIS PAST MONTH

1
THE NATS WON THE WORLD SERIES!!!

Sayyyyy what?! To come in as the “underdog” and prove our worth as World Series Champs was an incredible journey to watch! Sometimes watching meant from across the world on our cell phone, or from behind a computer while editing a wedding, or from a bummed Ollie pup after the Nats not performing their very best. Ultimately, it was one heck of a ride to watch and celebrate with victory!!! I didn’t grow up knowing baseball, but being with a hubby who is allllllll about it, I’ve learned so much over the years to appreciate the sport. <3 Go, Nats!

2
SO PROUD OF MY BROTHER!

From the guy who made fun of me for “paying to run” in a 5/10k to now the guy who completed his first MARATHON, I’m so proud of my bro!!!! After photographing a doubleheader weekend, I rushed out to DC Sunday morning last week to watch Eric cross the finish line. He did amazing, especially after rolling his ankle just weeks ago! Now I’m inspired to get back into running shape so I can do the “Gobble Wobble” in a couple of weeks. 🙂 Haha!

3
PERSONAL TIME

I’ve become more disciplined to say, “I can take 30-minutes to read” or “I can take 30-minutes to take Ollie on a nice stroll.” I’ve found so much more appreciation in my day when I’ve allowed time to take breaks. It’s a time of growth spiritually and mentally. This means waking up earlier to do this before my workday starts, but I find the enthusiasm to get out of bed every morning so I can have this personal time. 🙂

I LOVE MY JOB!!

Despite the amount of computer work that goes into owning a photography business, I LOVE what I do! Mostly, I love connecting with my couples and the incredible vendors I have the privilege of working with. It has been a rewarding season of very hard work. I’m so grateful for the appreciation I’ve received from my sweet couples. <3

VIRGINIA TRIPS

While Alex worked a ridiculous amount of hours, including working the dreaded night shift, I was in Virginia photographing weddings/sessions. I try to see some friends while I visit and it can be difficult to see everyone when there’s so much running around to do. I’m hoping I’ll figure out how to make it work better over the next year. 🙂 And poor Ollie pup!!! He has missed his Daddy so much … Over the past month and a half between two VA trips and Thailand, Ollie only had a few days with Alex! Crazy. Needless to say, this weekend was filled with necessary pup snuggles in the evening. <3

VIRGINIA TRIPS = TIME AWAY FROM ALEX 🙁

Obviously, trips to Virginia are necessary at this point in my life but it doesn’t mean that I am not allowed to miss my husband when I have to leave. 🙁 It’s never easy, but we both have the understanding that it’s just a season. 🙂 So we will continue pushing through the craziness because we know every month won’t be like what we just went through!! Thank goodness!!! I’m looking forward to the month of November spent in the comfort of my own home with my little family. <3

Happy Monday!!! Let’s conquer this work week together. 🙂
