COFFEE TALK MONDAY

Happy Coffee Talk Monday! We are wondering how it’s already March over here in the Schloe household. It’s a big month! My dad is turning 60 years old next week! SAY WHAT?! It’s my last chance to get ready for the 2020 Virginia wedding season (that kicks off next month) and I have some friends visiting in the coming weeks — This means that I have a lot of organizing, preparing, and cleaning to do this week. 🙂 Also, one of Alex and my Florida friends is getting married on Saturday, so we get to play dress up and attend as guests!! We cannot WAIT to celebrate!

Here are some highlights from this past week!

WE HAVE A FIRE PIT!!

Enjoying s’mores over our new fire pit with friends was definitely a highlight from this past week/weekend! 🙂 Just as promised from the last Coffee Talk Monday post, I built a fire ring!! Before our wedding, Alex and I had been on the hunt for a fire ring. Except, I wasn’t a fan of the ones that were around the price I would personally pay. After doing some research, I found that making a fire pit wasn’t that hard or expensive! We celebrated Saturday night and had some friends over for some s’mores — Reese’s is the way to go!

So you know what this means … A DIY blog post is coming on Wednesday! GET READY!!!

HAPPY MARCH!

It’s officially March! Crazy. Even though I would prefer an easy-going Monday (like how Ollie feels), there’s a lot to do. 🙂 One habit I practice every first Monday of the month is my “Monthly Duties” day — Which means I have a list of personal and business tasks to check off each month. Not only does it serve as a reminder but a motivation to clear off those mundane tasks. It ranges from paying my sales tax to giving Ollie his heartworm medication to paying off my credit cards. I was encouraged by Katelyn James (I believe) to implement this monthly chore into my workflow, and it has been the best thing in the life of my business!

Another habit I’m still practicing and tweaking is my big online grocery order once per month. It’s only my second time doing this, but it seems like it’s working well for us! I still find myself running to the store at random times for a bag of carrots or milk, but overall it’s nice having all of our meals bought. Meaning … No more wondering what we are going to have for dinner. ALTHOUGH, I will admit we had that thought last night when I realized it was too late to cook my favorite ribs recipe — So breakfast for dinner it was! Ha!

PHONE CALLS

Do you find yourself running in circles making phone calls sometimes? Lately, I’ve been on the phone a lot trying to check something off my list, only to find out they have to call me back — And they never do. So that task sits in my cue unchecked for months after I attempt to call back. Talk about exhausting — Between taxes, chimney issues in our home, trying to transfer funds from one institution to another, etc. Ohhhhh, adulting … I hope I’m not the only one who feels this way about calling companies! *I need the monkey covering his eyes emoji inserted here!!*
