I was honored to be Julie and Blake’s beach photographer in Navarre, Florida! They wanted to document precious mother and son portraits before their big move. We are going to miss them SO much!!! It’s a bittersweet season for Julie, as well as all of the former third-years in the residency program. Just as of last weekend, the third-year residents said goodbye after graduating a challenging three years (CONGRATS to all!!!)! Now that Alex is a third-year (CRAZY), it’s weird to think that he’ll be in their position this time next year!!! I say it’s bittersweet because I know many of them are excited to start a new adventure, but I know it must be sad to say goodbye to the family they built here in Destin, Florida. <3
I don’t know Julie and Blake as well as Alex (considering he worked with Julie for the past two years), but in the short time I’ve gotten to know them, it has been an absolute pleasure! The stories Alex shared about Blake during their night-shift hangouts at the hospital had me laughing on a daily basis. From the conversations I had heard about Blake confirmed he was one smart cookie!!! And of course, that would be the case… I mean, his mom is the same way! š
Blake’s Goodbye Party…
I recently had the honor of attending Blake’s going away party … which surpassed all expectations! It was completed with his favorite foods (Uncrustables, dino nuggets, burgers, chocolate milk, sushi, and the most delicious queso to name a few), as well as games he secretly planned for us. š We had a blast!! But what really blew me away was how witty and intelligent he is for a young seven-year-old! Blake is fascinated with planes and can name different models (big and small)! He shared a wealth of knowledge about them as well as airports from around the world! He even knew about the hardest runway to land in the world (my only contribution to the conversation because I learned all about it in a documentary ā I knew that random bit of knowledge would come in handy one day! HA!). I’m sure he will grow up to be a pilot and model… Just you wait. š Haha!
I know Julie has to be so proud of the son she raised. <3 And I hope she knows how admired she is for raising an incredible son while working through the residency program! Truly amazing!!! I’m so glad we were able to make this session happen and document the special bond of a mother and son!!! Florida will forever be a part of their story. <3
