Coffee Talk Mondays

Coffee Talk Mondays

I spent all day yesterday driving back to Florida, but I made it safely!!! šŸ™‚ Only one more Virginia road trip planned for this year in October ā€” I CANNOT wait to come back in the fall!!! My favorite season, and something I miss in Florida!!! The mountains… pumpkin everything… boots/cute fall layers! I’m counting it down!! šŸ™‚ šŸ™‚ šŸ™‚

So, you know what’s funny? After all of these “Coffee Talk Monday” posts, I actually haven’t been able to drink coffee since getting pregnant in March! The smell/thought of coffee turned me off (similar to how I felt about eggs and meat). Isn’t that so sad?! BUT I was photographing a wedding on Saturday and felt the urge to try decaf and … holy moly. I’ve missed it!!! Haha! I’m so happy that it was just a season and not a permanent thing. Something tells me that coffee will be NEEDED in December and the months ahead. šŸ˜‰ Hehe!

In the meantime, I have a LOT of editing on my plate. I didn’t realize how busy my two week trip to Virginia was going to be. I photographed two weddings and seven sessions, which totaled over 8,000 photos taken! WHEW! But I look forward to flooding my blog with some more beach portraits as well as Virginia mountain sessions! Gosh, I missed that scenery. šŸ™‚

Here is what happened the past two weeks!

BACK AT IT!!!!

During the beginning craziness of the COVID season, I learned so much about slowing down. For so many years, I had been hustling and I PRAYED to God last December to have a slow season with Alex. I had no idea it would look like this, but I’m finding little glimpses of beauty in the midst of chaos.

I had two weeks in Virginia to catch up with spring/summer sessions and two weddings that were postponed from May. I’m so grateful the weather worked in my favor to make sure everything was completed!!! It was like working a puzzle at first, but everyone was so gracious with my ever-changing timeline. I was supposed to have six weddings in August (between postponements + previously scheduled weddings), and that dwindled down to two. But the two weddings I photographed were pulled off as if COVID wasn’t even an issue! šŸ™‚ I am so glad to be back in action!!!

MOO THRU

If my baby grows up not liking ice cream, I’ll be VERY surprised!!! Ha! Moo Thru was my spot to meet since the ice cream parlor was outdoors and delicious (duh!). It was so nice getting together with family and friends during my stay. My time was a bit limited, but I’m grateful to have seen a few friendly faces, and hope to see many more friends next time! I definitely ate my weight in ice cream. šŸ™‚ YUMMMM!!!!

VIRGINIA

Virginia, you are beautiful. I’m so grateful to call both Virginia and Florida my home. <3 Alex and I are soaking in our last year in Florida before our next Air Force duty station next summer, and we are not taking the beach for granted. In fact, I want to soak in as many beach trips as possible, but we do look forward to having the mountains back in our lives again!!! šŸ™‚ I cannot WAIT to visit Virginia during the fall season!!!!!

B for Effort…

Ollie has slowed down in his “older” dog years… Although, he’s still a puppy (only 2.5-years old). It has been a year since he has touched a plush toy, and after my SWEET friend, Sam, gifted Ollie this toy, I thought I could test it out! Well… this walrus had a fin and teeth. But less than 20-minutes in, he was obsessed with demolishing it! What is with dogs wanting to destroy plush toys?! SO sad!!!!

As I was driving down to Florida, I had to make a quick stop for dinner. I’m not a big fan of fast food, and while options were limited driving through the boonies of Florida, I made a stop at a place called Jacks. The photo below shows their version of a “lettuce wrapped burger”… HAHA! This was a little depressing… But I’ll give them a B for effort!

Happy Tuesday, everyone!!
