I’ve been privileged to know the Downs family for years!! Not only as a wedding + family photographer but as a friend throughout my time in Warrenton, Virginia. <3 They have a special place in my heart that continues to overflow with joy every time I catch up with them. And what a journey it has been watching them blossom and flourish throughout the years!! I’ve watched Brandon and Sam care for their first home and tie the knot. Years later, they sold it and built an incredible, magazine-worthy farmhouse and announced they were pregnant with Ella. Since then, they welcomed Ella and Hadley into their lives and developed their farmland while pouring into their children. Their intentions to raise their children to be Children of God is beautiful! Especially witnessing it through their actions, words, and lifestyle. I treasure their friendship, and I’m grateful I have them to look up to when I raise my own family. <3
I could go on and on about their property because it’s what I hope and dream of having one day!!! Sam’s classic southern style is right up my alley! 🙂 As soon as I drove up to their home, she welcomed me with a gift basket filled with baby items! Talk about hospitality and thoughtfulness!! As I went through admiring every little gift she curated, my eyes filled up with tears. It is a gift to have her as a friend who has a servant’s heart to love others! That love shines from within, and that is a gift from God!
Brandon shared some recent projects they have worked on during this pandemic as we drove around the property. Brandon’s artistic and handyman skills mixed with Sam’s Joanna Gaines southern hospitality and design makes one powerhouse team! Haha! I love that they have a little sanctuary for their kids to treasure over the years to come. Especially during these uncertain times. <3 Growing up on a farm myself, some of my favorite childhood memories involve open land to play! Something to be cherished these days with the technology taking over. I pray the same care-free outdoor spirit for my future children as well! 🙂 But we will see what the military lifestyle entails! Haha! In the meantime, I’ll just live vicariously through the Downs family!! 🙂
